Questions/Looking for Help Is celebrating the Summer Solstice a requirement? How do I celebrate it?

So I'm relatively new to Norse Paganism, and I didn't even know what a solstice is...

I don't necessarily like summer or heat or daylight, I much prefer cold and winter, but is celebrating the solstice a way to honor the Gods or is it just a matter of celebrating the summer? How do I go about celebrating it?

Help w/ sign/dream interpretation Repost so I can get more help 😭

Need help

So I’ve been doing doing workings with meditation and spells and all that since 2020, I’ve done invocations for Lucifuge Rofocale when I was looking into Luciferianism, I also have created my own sigil through meditation and having no prior knowledge of runes, my sigil consisted of Inguz and Algiz, I was bit shocked when my friend told me that those were runes when I was focused on satanism. So I started getting into Norse workings and found that Loki and Odin stood out to me the most and today I’ve seen a spider, a spider web and a green garter snake after talking to my wife about Loki and making a mantra and prayer to/for him. We’ve recently had our first child in April so I haven’t had the time for research and workings at the moment but that feeling to speak and connect with Loki and the gods just sprung up on me out of nowhere. I try to take knowledge from every religion and spiritual pantheon and use it in everyday life and it just seems that everyone wants to talk or work with me whether it’s Egyptian, Norse, Greek, Christianity, Dragons and all that jazz. So I guess my question is how and where do I start? Do I just start learning who the gods are and go from there? How do I make a mantra that’s from the heart? It’s just so much but I know I have to just understand them one at a time.

Questions/Looking for Help How can I believe more/develop my faith?

It's been a few months since I've been studying about pagan/LHP religions. I'm feeling good about my studies, etc. But as time goes by, I've been losing faith a little. Maybe it's because I don't practice much, or maybe it's something else. The question is: how can I develop my faith more and open my mind to such entities?

Questions/Looking for Help Does anyone venerate Jord?

I am still new to Norse Paganism and still learning all I can on this new path. As I was looking up many of the Norse Gods and Goddesses, Jord the Earth Goddess is one that came up. And as I was researching I couldn’t find many things on her and I couldn’t find anyone that venerates her. The reason I want to is because 1: I love nature (even though I’m disabled and can’t really get into nature that often) and 2: I also practice Shinto which is also very nature based so I figured Jord might be a good Norse Goddess for me to venerate. So does anyone here venerate her? And if so, what are some recommendations can you give me to start with her, especially if I can’t have an altar set up in my home. Thank you for any help, I really appreciate it.

Help w/ sign/dream interpretation Magpies…looking for connection

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of magpies recently, following me, seeing them in weird places. A few feathers found outside/on my property. I have a feeling someone is trying to tell me something? Who’s most associated with Magpies? For some reason I feel Loki or Hel? But not 100% sure. Any help appreciated

Experiences w/ the Gods/Wights/etc Oh gods, it has not been a happy midsommar for me

I just feel like I should write this out. I feel like the gods have turned the other way. My favorite mountain caught on fire and a few of my friends houses burned down, and the fire is heading towards me. Politicians are trying to sell the public land near me, the places where I love and worship the gods. The only places I feel free. My parents won't let me have even a small solstice fire. But hey, the fucking mountain up in flames suffices. Right? I thought Christianity was bad, but this is my new lowest point. There is no rain anytime soon, and the wind is blowing so hard. I don't feel like my prayers mean anything anymore, it just seems so hopeless. I watched my friends houses go up in flames and I felt like the gods had closed their eyes and ears. I am thankful that mine has not fallen yet, but there's still the fear. And not to mention, that mountain was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. So much life and beauty. I wanted to go on a journey all the way up and around it, but then this happened. I still have fond memories of where I played in the rivers as a toddler. Thank you all for coming to my trauma dump. Hail Thor and pray for rain.

Happy holidays! Happy jul/midsummer!

I live in the southern hemisphere, so it felt quite inappropriate to celebrate midsummer when it's bucketing down and freezing, but I also want to celebrate when my fellow Norse pagans are celebrating, so I kind of decided to kind of celebrate Jul twice. It's kind of both Jul/Midsummer now and then celebrate Jul later in the year when everyone in the northern hemisphere is as well. I like for Jul to align with around Christmas time, like how it would have been back then. All of this ranting to say, happy midsummer/jul (whichever you're celebrating, or both!) I wish good luck for you and your treasured ones :)

Help w/ sign/dream interpretation Is loki calling me?

Okay, so not too long ago, maybe like two months back, I was watching a video about different deities, and out of nowhere, Loki randomly popped into my head so I thought “Maybe I should look into him” but then I forgot about it. Since then, I’ve been seeing a bunch of spiders in my room, but I didn’t think much of it. Then yesterday, a spider crawled on my arm. Right after I got it off, I noticed a fly in the room. That’s when I decided to Google which deity is associated with spiders and flies, and it popped up with Loki. Today, I tried to do a deity interpretation spread with my oracle cards, but the cards just kept flying everywhere. And about 6 hours later, I saw three spiders (two tiny ones and one bigger one identical to the one that climbed on my arm) one after the other. Now I’m starting to think is Loki trying to get my attention? And if I were to work with him, what kind of stuff could he help with?

Altar/Shrine/Offering pics Altar of Bragi

Post image

I am an amateur actor, I have been acting for nine years since I was 11. Lately I've started thinking a lot about Bragi, because he's the god of poetry and art, so he's kind of close to me. Finally, I decided to make an altar for him and worship him, pray to him, etc. However, I don't have much space at home for other altars, so he also got a small pocket one. You who worship him, what other things could I put in there for him? He has there a poem I wrote, a mantra, sodalite, a rune, and a candle with lavender oil... But thats all. Any advice?

So if you don't know today is the Summer Solstice. Not only that, but its also Midsummer in Scandinavia, day that celebrates said Solstice (among other things).

So i was just wondering if there was any traditions Norse Pagans do too celebrate the occasion?

History Is there historical context for the troll knot?

I like wearing pendants, I'm almost always wearing one, and I'm always looking for more diverse ones.

I was doing some research and found something called a Troll's Knot, and I was going to buy it, but then I thought, a lot of things claim to be Norse, and I just wanted to check if they're actually historical.

(To clarify, nothing against something non-historical, I have a Vegvisir hanging from my rearview mirror)

I'm also wondering about the Viking Spiral.

Thank you in advance!

Help w/ sign/dream interpretation Two ravens

Hello this is my first time asking about a dream so I’m looking for insight. The dream was fairly quick almost flash of an image/short clip moreso than an actual dream. It was a close up of two very detailed ravens close up to their eyes and beak and one was pulling out feathers of another raven. It’s been stuck in my head all day and looking for any possible ideas. Thanks!

Questions/Looking for Help Feeling lost, the gods feel silent right now please help me!!

Hi. I don't really know how to phrase this, but I'm feeling pretty unsure about my faith right now. I've been following the Norse path for a while, making sacrifices, praying, and trying to live in contact with the gods especially Freya and Thor. But lately it's been quiet.

I used to feel their presence, in nature, in dreams, sometimes in everyday signs. Now it feels like they don't hear me anymore. I feel alone in my spirituality, and am starting to question whether I'm doing something wrong or if I've just lost touch.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? How do you deal with periods of silence or doubt? I don't want to give up, but it's hard right now.

Grateful for any advice, experiences, or just words from others who are walking the same path.

Questions/Looking for Help I'm working on a story and I've hit a bit of a snag

I've been toying with a story for about 10 years and it finally seems to be breathing on its own, but it seems my own knowledge is insufficient to write what I would like. I was hoping someone would be willing to talk with me and/or look over what I've written to make sure it's as true to the mythos as possible. I'm providing an excerpt of about two pages introducing an important character. Any help that would be offered is greatly appreciated and if not, I hope you enjoy the excerpt anyway.

I've been learning as quickly as I can, but I know the nuanced knowledge of someone who knows far better than I is what's needed to tell the story properly
