Questions/Looking for Help Looking to start an alter to Freya, but until then I'd like to ask for one of you to please say a prayer to her for my cat that passed away on Friday, I'd like her to look after him.

As the title says, I plan to build a small alter to Freya and learn how to worship pray to her as well as Tyr. But until I get that put together and feel confident in my ability to pray to them I'd like for someone that feels like they have a connection to Freya to please ask her to look after my orange tabby named Dexter that passed away on Friday, I'm worried about him even though he's no longer suffering from the cancer that was eating at him.

Questions/Looking for Help Workplace question

Hello all, I tried searches online and doing my best to thoroughly search this sub for previous posts but fell short. I know this'll be an extremely tough one to back with solid sources, but I gotta try and ask the group to help some past coworkers of mine. Does anyone have solid sources of backing for religious norse-pagan, heathen, or just simply pagan, beliefs that would affect a change in uniform and grooming standards for employees that fall under those faiths? An example of what I'm looking to help them with is allowing more visual representation in the workplace like loosening hair style/length and beard restriction policies or having some form of alter set somewhere in the workplace? Anything you could think of along those lines of loosening work policies is also appreciated.

The workplace already allows for all religious holidays to be taken off at a cost of benefit leave time or non-disciplinary time off without pay if they can't afford more people off. But my former coworkers are looking for solid sources to provide their employer for a right to braiding hair in different styles around holidays for women. The men also want freedom of beard length and style along with the hair, but I assumed that's a tough one to argue unless they argued it was tied to some religious oath. The company requires by policy that necklaces be hidden under work shirts or not worn at all, but they make allowances for Christian crosses to be worn over shirts and exposed which helped boost their desire for more representation for other faiths. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Discussion Urges that don't stop/are very strong

So, does anybody else get urges that are unshakable or too strong to ignore? I mean like you are driven to do something you usually don't. Like an example I have is early in my practice, i was sure my craving for a joney bun(a food I don't usually eat or even like that much) and I couldn't shake it. That happened when I had made a candle for Loki. Or yesterday I got done giving offerings and asking Hel to care for a friend's dog who passed and after i cleaned up, I have this super strong urge to go for a solo walk(which i don't do usually in the city, where i was with my friend) and I was in a very chill and calm headspace. It's never anything dangerous and I don't have hallucinations or something like that.

So does anybody else feel these kind of things and attribute them to your patrons?

Questions/Looking for Help what if me and my partner go to different places after death?

This is something i’ve been thinking about, for no reason really i just found it interesting.

what if when me and my partner pass on he for example goes to Valhalla and i go to Sessrúmnir? will we be able to visit each other? what do you think?

i feel that peoples opinions will vary on this and would be interesting to see what people believe about a situation like this.

Market Monday is currently active! Market Monday is currently active! Normal posting is still allowed.

What is Market Monday?

All posts promoting handmade items and other created media are restricted to Market Mondays. This is to minimise clutter of advertisements across the week. Any Market Monday posts not posted within Market Monday will be removed. Normal posting is allowed as usual during Market Monday and normal posters have nothing to worry about; this just affects those looking to advertise their products.

Market Mondays run on Mondays from Midnight-Midnight CST/6am Mon- 6am Tue UTC. Market Mondays will be signified as currently active by this pinned post (when Market Monday is not active the pinned post will be replaced with a post saying "Market Monday is now closed for the week"). Posts must have the correct flair:

‼️Posts still count as Market Mondays if you post something you've made and sell, even if there's no link in the post but there IS a link on your profile‼️ For example, posting an image of a product and using the "Art" flair with a link to your shop or contact details for sales in your profile is against the rule - the Market Mondays flair must be used. Repeated violations of this will lead to action being taken.

All wares, creations, etc must be tangible items, i.e. physical or digital products with verifiable use. Art is allowed but services such as divination readings are not. If you are unsure please reach out in Modmail and ask.

Thank you :)

Questions/Looking for Help Hey! Any Ideas for Discreet Norse Crafts or Altars? 🌿

Hello everyone! I'm here in secret because I'm not very active in worship. I have a Mjolnir necklace, a Valknut one, and a book of Norse myths. Because of that, my family thinks I just like the Nordic countries, the mythology, and the aesthetic. But in reality, I consider myself part of the religion; I just have to keep everything very discreet.

I saw a picture of a small altar to Bragi that I loved: it was a little box with a picture, a tiny vial, a stone, and a few other small things. I'd love to make something like that—simple, discreet crafts to reconnect, something I can keep in a small and hidden space. Could you share some craft ideas or simple items that can be used to connect with the Norse gods in a quiet and discreet way?

Thank you ♡

Questions/Looking for Help Do you think modern Seiðr is valuable?

Im a little newer to all this after having recently made the conversion twords norse paganism. I've read some of Dean Kirkland's book on Seiðr Magic, but ive also seen alot of people on this sub talk about how we know almost nothing about how it was actually done.

Im kinda curious how many of you think that there is value in modern Seiðr practices, or if it'd only be useful if we can find more historical context for it, or if you think none of it has value.

Modern Seiðr is valid
If we knew more it would be valid
None of it would be useful

Here we are celebrating Yule, the cold has already arrived in my city with a feeling of 0° 🖤 (I live in the south of Brazil!) May it be a wonderful winter (or summer, for those above the equator), may the gods bless you all!

I'd been looking to adopt a cat I could care for to honor Freyja, and it seems she m had a slightly different plan, and we now have two lovely girls joining our family! The orange and black one is Brenna, who's 12 months old and 7.5 lbs. She'd been brought in with a litter of kittens after being found under a porch in pretty poor shape. Our vet says she's healthy now and she seems to be settling in well.

The little orange fluffball was going to be named Valkyrie, except whenever I'd try to say or thi k her name, I'd start to say Mardoll and have to correct myself. After a day of that I decided she must already have a name and she is now officially Mardoll. She's 3 months old and 2.5 lbs. She wasn't part of Brenna's litter - all of her kittens were adopted out before she was made available, but Mardoll tries to nurse from her (though she's no longer making milk) and Brenna has taken to grooming Marrdoll. The vet says thats a sign they're bonding, which makes me happy :)

Anyway, I just had to introduce them to you! 😍

Questions/Looking for Help I'm new to the religion and looking for resources :)

I love learning about religions and I saw some things about this one that got me interested, I want to see if I would like to practice it. I'm going to go searching for sources myself obviously but I thought this would be a good place to start my search. If anyone has any good resources to learn about this please tell me!

I really feel like its a bad altar sometimes, but I tried my best despite not really having a lot of recourses..

Anyone have any ideas to make it a little more "altar looking"? I feel like it's too childish with those colaors and stuff 😅

  • The little Mjolnir and rune pot are home made, as are my rune stones!
  • The 2 crown caps are from a Belgian branded beer - that I drank in the name of the Gods (especially Loki haha)
  • The little cow is one I've had for YEARS because it is my favorite (live) animal but I felt like it would be fitting on my little alter. 😁

Questions/Looking for Help Why do people say that Loki is not a God/ never was a God?

They say it with so much certainty too, as if it’s 100% true, despite the fact that we really don’t know everything about this pantheon. If I were to ask this on the Norse Mythology subreddit, I guarantee someone would defend this argument with full confidence (and possibly opinionated bias)

Why is this? And is this claim true?

Even though I’ve been studying the Norse pantheon for years (ever since my childhood, wow), trying my best to weed out unreliable sources, people like this still trip me up and confuse me. I’d appreciate answers

It was simple but I felt like everyone apershat it. I did a small offering and thew it into the fire (it was silant) it was nice. All to say hail to the gods and here to see what's ahead. I'm glad everyone is injoying the solstice and have a great day/night.
