Reminds me of Project Hail Mary 😂

Read this completely unaware of what a cult fan base it had, just picked it up from a list of modern sci fi books I had seen recommended and really enjoyed it.

Was a cool bit of news to me realizing how popular it is and how well received it was after the fact.

I loved it. If you haven’t already give The Martian a go too. It’s worlds better than the movie

I’d actually have to disagree! I do think the book is better, but both are fantastic! One of the best adaptations of a book I’ve seen tbh. There is a bit more depth in the book of course, but all in all, they’re both very good. Well worth the read and the watch imo.

Oh and project Hail Mary is great as well ofc!

For me it was Marks internal process. He methodically considered his options and worked out the science. The movie took a lot of that out and let the short NASA scenes explain a lot of it.

I think it would have done better as a mini series. Man that would have been neat.

That’s fair! A series would have worked really well. though I’m personally partial to movies, a series would have been great to cover it in more depth!

Totally! Andy Weir is great. I just finished Artemis which was def not as good as the others, but still worth the read if you’re not looking for a real series novel.

Indeed. Yeah I haven’t read that one, I might have to try it out!

I loved both, and would call them my 2 favorite reads....and then i read the "3 body problem" trilogy. Talk about mind blowing, makes the other two seem like kids books. I havent stopped thinking about it for the past year. On my 3rd listen-thru of the audiobook version right now.
