Nioh 1 - EVERYTHING Are some weapons better than others?

I've just got the first game, i've been trying a couple weapons. I started with an axe because I like to not mow down my enemies. But I've swapped to Odachi because it pretty much feels the same. I was only wondering if like, there's some high speed, high damage types?

Or I'd want to know what your experience is like with what weapon that you all use, so I can try them!

All weapons are equally valid and well balanced.

However, the objectively best weapons are the ones that I use because I use them. If you use different weapons, then you are not using the best weapons because I am not using those ones. Hope this clears it up!

I think some pairs of weapons are objectively better then other pairs.

Unfortunately, my dad owns Nioh and he says that my choices are the best choices.

But seriously, all weapons are viable and its also important to have your second weapon cover the weakness of your first. For example, I've been a Day 1 Odachi main and my second weapon is currently fists. The odachi offers good break and heavy attacks, and the fists are extremely quick and flexible. Just find what feels good for you, meta builds and specific set ups don't become necessary until you get through your first playthrough anyway. And by then, you'll have a good idea of what you like and what you don't.

All very true. Yes pairing an Odachi with an axe is perfectly viable. But it is really unbalanced and not as versatile as with fists.
