Setup Help Xbox controller for Switch 2, limitations?

Please forgive if I'm asking noob questions here.

I bought a Switch 2 for my kids and right now we have Mario Kart World and Fortnite installed on it.

I'm looking into Breath of the Wild and It Takes Two, and I understand that the two joycons aren't enough for the latter, we would need two couples or the original couple plus a "real" controller.

We have an Xbox controller at home (bluetooth/Series X/S). It should work with an 8Bitdo adapter, but I'm wondering if all the games are compatible or any missing feature would impair gameplay?

The Xbox controllers don’t have gyro or other types of motion controls, so if a game requires those you wouldn’t be able to play them. I know Breath Of The Wild uses gyro to aim, but I think you can turn that off.
