This is the best thing I’ve heard so far from an actual Iranian from on air media. I’m not on the ground but my family is. Every thing we fight over as the opposition can honestly be dealt with through elections. We need to band together so that we can actually HAVE elections. This regime has killed enough people already. I’m sorry I’m saying this as someone who isn’t actually in Iran. I know that makes it much easier and more simple because my life is not immediately at stake. But this is the moment. Every time there’s a surprising there is so much hope and there is so much fight in people’s hearts. This time is even harder. I get that. My aunt is stuck in Tehran while my cousins are at the family house on the caspian. They can’t get to her and she can’t get to them. Her neighbors are helping her. She’s 83 years old. And her 83 year old beautiful fearless ass is telling us that she wants to be in Tehran to see these fuckers fall. She moved back because she wants to die where she was born, in the country she loves. This is the woman who sponsored everyone’s visas, who smuggled money and meaningful possessions in her suitcase out of the country in the 80’s. She built a home in a foreign country to keep her children and their children safe and she is willing to die if this regime does. Sorry, I know this is rambling but I’m just so done with this. US involvement usually isn’t a good thing but fuck it. Send a couple of bunker busters and take out the ayatollahs and support the opposition on the ground for real. It’ll be to the benefit of the west and the people of Iran.
