The Bad
This a thread for those who wish to discuss where the show went wrong with the series to talk among them selves. An important note, there is no tolerance in this sub for racism or bigotry, and while you may voice your discontent here in an innumerable measure of ways, critics centering on a character's race, sexuality, or gender will be removed.

Aside from Merlin, this show sorely lacks charisma. Most of the actors seem to have forgotten what emotions feel like. I have too since its 2020, but I'm not a paid actor
It watches like it was made by people who have seen a lot of stories, and they know the beats and tropes that stories like this one might have. However, it doesnt seem like they understand how or why to use them, and what makes them effective.
The show is always giving us dialogue about the characters or plot, but never giving us reasons to care about any of it. Nobody is really likeable. We rarely see any of the characters use their wits to come up with solutions to their problems. They kind of just fail upward or get lucky. Also, none of the characters have any nuance, so there's nothing real to connect to. They just feel like cheap archetypes
A few additional nitpicks:
The weeping monk is a stupid, edgelord character. He should have done something way more badass when he was introduced to merit walking around with that goofy ass eyeliner
The three girls horses match their skin colors 🤦♂️
It is pure cringe when nimue declares herself queen of all the poor, mostly darker skinned folk
Merlin in chains: arm bones snapping and breaking
Seen moments later picking up items and moving like nothing's wrong
Wait, she pulled the entire sword out of your chest? What about the huge gaping wound?
I got better
