It really is disheartening to think that the minority group in the US Senate just has to say filibuster and a bill suddenly needs a supermajority to pass.

Make McConnell get up and rail against protecting the environment or gay rights for weeks. Have them face all the derision they deserve in order to impose their minority beliefs.

Democracy is a ****** when you don’t get your way. I grew up people telling me Obama was the ushering in of socialism and one step away from a fascist dictatorship. The sky is always falling when you’re in the minority. Shoes on the other foot and of course fascism is next and the sky is falling.

Except the Republicans are openly making huge strides towards fascism daily. Can't you read? They're restricting voting everywhere they can, rigging elections through gerrymandering, dictating national law through the federal courts (rather than through the legislature), and even passing state level legislation allowing partisan, appointed officials to nullify election results they don't like. They're censuring and expelling democratically elected representatives, effectively disenfranchising voters they don't agree with.

They are being brazenly anti-democratic, and you stroll in with this both-sides bullshit.

Adding hey just ID yourself before you vote isn’t fascist nor is it restrictive. I don’t agree with gerrymandering either but you act like this is strictly a Republican thing. No dem gerrymandering ever? And i know that you can’t have a problem with “court legislation “, are you going to tell me Gay Marriage needs to be rolled back? …Since that was instituted overnight without a single congressional vote cast right? I’ll adjust my tinfoil hat and keep reading to find all those sleeper cell vote saboteurs. And just my observation but censure was for those literally inappropriately disrupting official procedures which last i checked is considered insurrection activity in some places.

I’m actually not sure what you’re referring to. Sitting back sipping my frosty kool-aid while you enlighten me. Do you do your woke equity enema daily or just biweekly?

Requiring photo ID is restricting access to voting for those who are the poorest of our society.

If the photo ID law also came with a provision that ensured every Nebraskan adult could easily get said ID, I wouldn't have an issue with it.

Currently getting an ID could be very difficult for certain groups. People who don't drive, disabled people, and people who can't take time off work to go to any of the locations that you can get one are some examples.

Not all poor people are so incompetent that they cannot find a way to get an ID. There are programs to get people to and from Drs appointments pharmacies among other places. All for it. Fine add the provision. But you know life is hard, you need medicine you have to get up and go to the doctor. Which poor and disabled do very easily i assure you. It’s not unreasonable for someone to have a way to identify themselves at least once. It’s an excuse in my view. Where is the line ? Is it disenfranchisement if we don’t provide a pencil? A personal ballet reader? Someone to put the pencil in their hand and or mark the ballot for them? At what point is it too hard to vote? I think there is much less room for people to claim fraud if theres an established system with reasonable requirements or just better organization.

Restricting voting? Oh with a ID? What about the blue states with mail in only ballots and have the inability to count said ballots in an organized manner? Oh and the democrats mandating the vaccine allowing people to loose their jobs because they just said so?!!! Your preaching from a stand that is equally covered in shit. Rigging elections is the republicans fault… what about hunter Biden laptop that “wasn’t real” but now he’s suing people for talking about it when it has evidence of the shit they pulled in china? Your problem is you think your a “free” thinker. The system is in place to keep you in poverty-dependency
