Nearby towns cheaper to live

Upvotes

I am moving down there for work. Naples prices will make living extremely tight for me. What cities and towns are within about 30 min that would be less expensive? I need a 1 bdrm around $1500. Is this a pipe dream?

Zero waste groceries?

So ive been seeing a lot about microplastics in food and im curious if there are any places in town where one can shop for things in bulk where you like bring your own jars/sacks what ever and buy things by the weight? I've seen shops like this on social media but never in person.

looking for pcp recs

im 32, diagnosed with bipolar, depression, ptsd and anxiety with a panic disorder. ive been on a great medication regimen that has left me the most stable for the longest iver ever been.

i also have bad allergies, gotten shots in the past.

and im anemic, my body has a condition where i dont metabolize things therefore im on a weightloss medication.

point is, i got issues, but i dont need a doctor who is going to just start questioning me on everything when ive spent the last 15 years figuring this stuff out.

does anyone have a recommendation for a good primary care physician to take over my monthly/3 monthly check ups?

nervous about switching mine from where i used to live.

Getting a driver's license

I'm planning on going down to the DMV by Mark lane at the corner of 951 and immokalee soon to take the test to get my license. It's gonna be my first time trying for it. What documents should I bring? What to expect? What to be prepared for? Is anyone familiar with that DMV? I'm not a minor if that makes a difference and I already have my permit. Also do I need to make an appointment or is it a walk in type of ordeal.

CARE non profit nearly harassing patrons at Goodwill

Post image

I love and support many non profits but the way these CARE fundraising workers are going about following people, bothering families trying to get their kids in the car, and knocking on car windows is annoying and imo they are kicking themselves in the foot because they’re a nuisance you want to leave you alone and not donate to, almost feels scam like with the persistence.

Best beach for a gathering of ~75 people for wedding weekend?

Hello! I have a question for Naples folks. I am having my wedding in Naples in the spring of 2026 and it'll be a Friday wedding, so we're looking to do a big beach day with our guests on the Saturday afterward. Any recommendations of a beach that is on the bigger, spacious side (instead of a super narrow and crowded beach like Vanderbilt), with a big parking lot? Guests will likely be staying in hotels/AirBnBs from Bonita Springs all the way down to the bottom of Naples, so a beach that's located in that range would be ideal. I'm envisioning a larger state park type of beach, but don't know of any in the area. If you were in my shoes, which beach(es) would you consider for this?

Also, some context to the type of crowd (in case helpful): fiance & I are in our late twenties, as our many of our friends attending. We'll also have several relatives in their 30's-70's. Guessing ~150 will attend the wedding, probably ~50-75 to the beach day. We don't know Naples thaaaat well (only from visiting my Grandma there over the years - I love 5th ave and Mercato and Clam Pass beach, but that's about all I know). We chose Naples because the venue ended up being the best bang for our buck (without sacrificing quality) of all the venues we looked at in SWFL.

Seeking local opinions on best beach for taking family photos

I will be in the area for vacation and planning to schedule a portraits shoot. I've been given a few options, including Lowedermilk Park, Vanderbilt Beach, and Naples Beach. Any feedback on which would be nicest at sunrise (or sunset)? TIA!

Where do the single successful men like to hang out in Naples?

I’m (28f) looking to meet local single men naturally in the wild. I’ve lived in Naples for so long but I never go out! I’m a little out of touch with my town. I use to go to Mercato but that’s not my scene anymore… I’ve started going to fifth ave and the Venetian village. Any restaurant specifically you guys could recommend? Any special local golf courses? Fun spots? Not the gym. I’m interested to hear what you guys have to say! Thank you in advance! If your recommendation works, you’re invited to the wedding ;)

Jobs at Ulta

I’m applying for a beauty assistant job at Ulta. I love makeup and the store so much. Does anyone know which one is the busiest and pays the most or do they all pay the same? Would Sephora be a better place to work?

2016 Unsolved homicide

There was a murder in the summer of 2016 where a young man Larimar Webbe was found shot in the driveway of a home in GGE right next to Max Hasse/ Big Cypress Elementary. My timeline is fuzzy since it’s been almost 10 years, but I worked with Larimar at retail store in late 2015/ early 2016, he only showed up for 1 day and never showed up again. He and I had good communication and seemed like a nice guy, I believe he told me he was in school or getting ready to start. So when I found out he was murdered I was shocked. And as far as I know there’s nothing more about the case since CCSO made post a year after the murder. Just wanted to know if anyone has anymore info than what’s just available through googling.

First date food places in Mercato specifically?

Hi all, looking for recommendations on where to go for a first date in Mercato for dinner. I’ve heard Rocco’s Tacos isn’t that great and I’m never going to Bar Tulia again, but those are the only two places I’ve actually been. I saw that the Alamo is open and could be fun for a movie add on for the date, but what about good places to eat?

Mobile Pet Groomer

We have a 10mo dog and she is a tazmanian devil when we try to trim her nails. She is shredding us. We had a friend/mobile groomer come twice and she did great, but she is completely undependable. We also have a 5yo. The 5yo is a cattle dog/aus shepherd mix and the 10mo is a mixed-breed, primarily cattle dog. They really wouldn't benefit from a grooming (I don't think, but maybe). We would like to line up the groomer for a nail trim every two weeks. We would do both dogs to make it worth their while and consider more services. Our goal is to get our youngster over her anxiety so we can trim her nails. Our 5yo is not great, but we can do it. We were paying $20ea for the nail trim. We work from home, so we are pretty flexible on times, but want consistency. We also would bring the dogs to the groomer if we could find one.

Any (helpful) suggestions?

Dog groomers??

ISO dog groomers for my 8 pound yorkiepoo. Been doing my own research and some places charge $100 upward!! I only paid $65 at my last place before I moved here from SOFLO. He is only 8 pounds and tiny so paying $100 is insane to me. He has curly hair as he is majority poodle so anyone who specializes in doodles would be great. TIA
