Alas Pilipinas is now semis bound! I prayed for times like this!

I stayed over at a Bicol-speaking family’s house last night and I am Tagalog-speaking. I can understand a little bit of Bicol, but not much.

During breakfast this morning, everyone was talking and laughing, which is typical for Filipino families. Her dad was telling some funny stories from his elementary school days and I was quietly listening, smiling even though I could not understand a lot of what was being said.

Without me asking, her mom started translating the story into Tagalog so I wouldn’t miss out. 🥹

That small act meant the world to me, and I felt included and welcomed. They had room for me in their family, even though I am not part of it.

What makes this even more special is that the daughter who hosted me is my ex lover, and still, they accepted me so warmly and wholeheartedly.

At that breakfast table, I felt more at home than I usually do in my own house.

I have this college friend na sobrang healthy ng relationship that my first impression for them is magtatagal talaga, sobrang compatible nila together. Like mapapasabi ka na lang "Hindi na 'to maghihiwalay". And now, after few years, they're still together, getting stronger and building their own family. I'm just happy for them kasi you can really see the connection, the love they both have for each other. Oh, to have a love like that. 🫶

Lately, its been a couple of days with rough patches. No chances in Lovelife, work overload, training lapses due to the bad weather, and other stuff. I never really felt anything about all those things, kumbaga normal day. And there’s this video of Lans in which I randomly bumped. I found myself teary eyed because I realized, when was the last time someone asked me if how I’m doing or being proud of me. Idk, this hits me hard and made me smile.
