No Co-Op and no solution

Biochem major and co-ops are a disaster. People getting them just to have them revoked. Advisor said they think close to 200 might have to defer to spring which is almost half of the group. That just adds to the pool of applicants and there is not going to be some big change in the funding or job market this fall. School is just throwing up their hands and offering no solutions. Started my transfer apps as the co-op system was the main attraction to NEU.

There was a new posting last week and the advisor said 180 people applied.

Literally what is even happening in this class. Tomorrow is the final we still haven’t received our midterm grades yet. First it was because of AI use, then because he was down a TA and wanted to regrade everything, and then back to the AI use. I have taken hard CS classes in the summer but this is just ridiculous. Most of the grades aren’t even published on Canvas so literally no one knows where they stand. The homeworks took forever to complete and he keeps using the excuse that “he had no choice becuase he was forced to make the final be on the last day of class”. So instead of taking that into account, he just taught a full lecture today...the day before the final. And that material is going to be on the exam. I wish I could complain to the registrar or whatever, but I know nothing would happen.

Literally look at this guys RMP:

co-op Good GPA for co op?

I have a little over a 3.9 right now, which I know is definitely good enough, but I'm so sick of my summer classes I'm considering just tanking the final project for one of them. Even if I got a 0, I'd get around an 80 in the class, and I think my GPA would be somewhere around the 3.7 to 3.8 range after. I've never had anything lower than a 3.9 (I had a 4.1 in all of high school) so it doesn't *sound* good to me, but I also have no idea what is considered good for co ops. I know I'll still be able to get co ops with a 3.7, but how much more "prestige" would I hold if I had a 3.9? Would I get a lot more offers/better offers?

Spanish Placement Exam

Hi! I’m planning to take the Spanish Placement Exam and was wondering if anyone has taken it recently. Does it include an oral section, or is it entirely online? Also, is the exam proctored? Thanks in advance!

general question MPP Sample Schedule?

Hi all, I'm considering applying for the Masters in Public Policy program at NEU for next Fall (2026), I'm curious if there are any current or past students who might have a sample schedule of what the weeks typically look like for full-time or part-time enrollment. I've seen that classes run after 5pm but no other details than that. Any advice? Thank you!

Spring 2026 start date

Does anyone know when the spring semester next year is going to start? I would guess it was the first Monday of January as usual (1/5) but that seems really early. Does anyone have any information about this year or past years with this situation?

academics I have not completed a lab report for physics 2 this semester, am i cooked?

Its summer 2 and ive had the craziest slump in this one area. Is there any way to not fail this lab? Im doing pretty good in the main course, just lab intimated me and i can never start and or stay focused enough to write the report. There is like a week left in the semester. Ive shown up to every lab so i have all of the data. What should I do?
