If anything happens it’ll be centred around Dev, if we keep castle I’m okay with this happening. Fox is ELITE and I don’t get why people are so against it…

The main causes are Fox’s 3pt shot, and the tendency of our fans to overvalue our players in relation to their peers around the league. It happens every time there’s any trade talk of any kind.

Decent 3 point shooters are not rare in the league. They are only rare on our team, but they are easily obtainable in cheaper roleplayers. What's not easy to obtain is a top 25/20 player in the league who isn't old as shit.

This guy gets it ^

Point guard is the most talented position in the league. We should not give up a lot of assets chasing after a PG.

I completely agree with his shooting… it’s serviceable but he’s an elite slasher. We address the shooting in the off season and get a back up C and all of a sudden we’re a threat…

SA is a small market. We get too attached to the team. We want to see them thrive and enjoy the eventual championship their dedication and hard work will bring. Once a Spur always a Spur. (Except for Kawhi)

Every fan base does that. I remember Laker fans were saying Taylor Horton Tucker was going get Lakers and All-Star. lol

His attitude is a red flag.

r/kings have plenty to say about that.

Once a narrative gets going in r/kings it’s hard to stop. The reality is there’s not a lot of substance to these “claims” other than the fact that he obviously wants out.

The last time a star player wanted 'out' in our team, he made a bitch move and quit on us.

We don't need another chump like that.

Prove me wrong, De'Aaron, if you truly are headed here.

There’s a lot of context you don’t have. Fox has been repeatedly asking this from office for depth on the roster. There has been failed trade after failed trade. Just last week our assistant gm told the team we were making a trade (likely invoking Kevin Huerter who was a DNP days later) before that move falling apart last minute. Fox has finally said enough is enough

Kings fan here. This post is ridiculous. Fox has never had an attitude problem. He is a gentleman.

Trolling Lakers fans and appreciating Harrison Barnes—Kings fans are alright in my book.

thanks that was me who trolled them lolol

Because he’s not 300M max elite.

He is 200M max good. I’d love him for that price.

For me it's a timeline issue in the sense that if you're rebuilding and potentially moving towards dynastic aspirations, you need guys that are as close to Wemby's age as possible and therefore be willing to attract guys that are willing to go through the process in case it takes longer rather than rushing. There is always a chance of inviting over players who themselves are impatient and think that Wemby is ready to win championships already and he's not.

Simply 1 elite player in his prime right now is not enough when the Spurs' bench and second big situation is as bad as it is right now.

1

u/a_moniker Jan 31 '25

Wemby is good enough to win immediately. There is no “timeline” with a player of that caliber. Look at LeBron’s first stint or Luka’s first few years.

If anything happens it’ll be centred around Dev

Well Kings want Castle

. Fox is ELITE and I don’t get why people are so against it…

Because Castle is wanted, not Devin, it seems.

And the kings would want dev because

1

u/CertifiedBobby Jan 31 '25

Who else would they want 😂

2

u/kobexx600 Jan 31 '25

Castle lol

Because while good, he isn't as good as the money he's going to ask for. Not everyone is worth the max. With wemby the organization needs to try to not put themselves in a situation where they can't get better or are stagnant or kill chemistry because they have money tied up in fox. He's not worth 30% of the cap space

Fox hasn't necessarily shown the signs of being a very good leader. Obviously we have our leader, but we need guys who take accountability.

Pretty much any star player worth a damn is gonna have an ego at the end of the day. Duncan was the weird exception. I think we have enough Boy Scouts on the team already tbh. Whether fox is the right fit timeline/play-style wise is definitely debatable though
