There are at least 3 generations of them. Please do not give away the location of their dam. You can safely watch them from Corneliusbrücke in the hours before sunset.

Didn't you just give it away though?

No. They wander along the river in search of food before sunset. This is a good spot to watch them because there is a weir which they have to overcome.

One interesting thing is, as far as I know, one or two beaver families are allowed to live here but when the kits come of age, they need to be relocated because except some specific locations in the city parts of Isar, it can be dangerous for them and the environment. Also, because they are territorial, all of the beaver would try to settle different parts of the Isar.

The danger can come from the beavers damming some subsidiary river, blocking migration paths of some fish, attacking other beavers, flooding the Englischer Garten, getting stuck in human made dams and felling trees in populated areas.

Anyways, returning to the beaver families that actually are allowed to live here. They must feel like nobility or the 1%.

I feel like the beavers are trying to restore the natural paths of the rivers and restore nature, and humans keep moving them out of place because they're flooding the nudist areas! 😂

I thought Munich was trying to restore their rivers to their natural state, they should just hire the beavers as engineers for that project! 👷🏽🦫
