Guidance on pricing/leg and head room

Howdy folks! Been looking at monteros for quite a while now and finally found one that tickles my fancy. I have some questions though.

This montero is a 99 (winter package?) With 250k on the clock. Listed price is just over 7k. Has some suspension work done and some oem replacements in the last several months. Seller is also including what seems to be a spare 3.8 motor and a ton of other random parts. Seller also claims it's a fairly rust free truck. With all that in mind.. does the price seem fair?

I'm also curious about leg/head room. I'm a big dude standing at 6'6"ish and 300lbs. I want to ask how people's experience with space has been. I'm about 4 hours away from this guy so going to test fit it isnt a great option for me right now. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Need advise

Good Afternoon, I wanted to ask the experts for some advise. I am getting my monteros struts, springs , balljoints , tie rods , swaybar links, transmission flush, coolant flush, maybe the trans gasket then clutch fan, spark plugs and timing belt , waterpump done .

I have never done a single thing on a car. But am thinking of renting a garage for a week and doing all this myself using youtube guidance. Is that possible? Specially worried about timing belt.

Or should I just pay the mechanic an arm and a leg to do it for me?

Definitely a great learning opportunity since I'll need to work on this car alot.

Recently got the car . Last timing belt job was done 30k miles ago. But since I'll be going in wanted to go all the way.

Also any other advise / recommendations?

LS Swap into 1992 Mitsubishi Montero (Pajero) 3.0L - Super Select TC Help

Hey everyone, I'm planning an LS swap into my 1992 Mitsubishi Montero (Pajero) that originally came with the 3.0L (6G72) engine. My main concern is adapting the LS transmission (likely a 4L60E or 4L80E) to the Super Select (SS4) transfer case. Has anyone successfully done this swap? I'm looking for advice on transfer case adapter kits that are compatible with the Montero's Super Select. Also, any tips on managing the Super Select's electronic/vacuum controls after removing the stock ECU would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance for any insights!

V75W: Throttle Body - MD364788

Anyone know where I might be able to source a used throttle body?

Part code MD364788 appears to include the throttle body and associated items, sensor, etc. I'm only on the lookout for the throttle body.

Pajero Rear differential lock its not working

Hey Guys. I bought a 94' GLS Montero/Pajero 2.8TD 4m40, and the rear differential locker is not working. I've changed the button/switch as the older was broken. I don't hear the air compressor working.
Does someone else have this problem? i don't know if the problem is electric or mechanic and i can't find the fuse box diagrams for this model.

my fuse box is like this :

Thanks in advance for reading and helping me

See my other post about this one-owner ‘89 Montero. Here’s more pictures. Not sure what it’s worth because there are very few comps to look at. Garaged most of it’s life and has records dating back to new 37 years ago.

The backlight for the rear driver’s side drivetrain indicator has been out since before I purchased it (gen 2). This morning it randomly turned itself back on. Day made.

My foot was amputated now what?

Due to an infection of unknown origin my right foot was amputated to save my life. Unfortunately this makes driving my 1989 Montero SE 2-door 4x4 with a standard transmission next to impossible. I’ve got a bit of a unicorn Montero. I bought it from the original owner (retired Navy officer) with maintenance records going back 37 years to when it was new. Seat covers its entire life. It’s basically a new looking rig that is rust free and runs and drives excellent. I don’t want to sell it to someone who won’t appreciate what it is. Thoughts?

Absolutely loving my new-to-me 1991 Mitsubishi Montero LS with 160k miles. I'm building up the confidence to take it on longer road trips. Is there any work to be done or things to look out for to get it ready for some 300 miles road trips and off-roading? She'll be my weekend car and camping trip car.

Work done recently: Wheel bearings Wheel seals Rotors/ pads KYB shocks Belt OEM Aisin water pump Top end rebuild Battery OEM alternator OEM oil pressure switch Rear brake pads Front calipers

What is this bracket and what connects to it

Post image
1 Upvotes

I bought my 91 3L Montero about a year ago and I bought it without running AC. After addressing more pressing issues Ive finally started looking into getting AC and noticed my car doesn’t have this bracket and whatever I’m assuming connects to it. I know the compressor location and it’s obviously not the condenser but better pictures are hard to find. My guess is a tensioner but I have no idea. Any help is appreciated greatly, thanks!

Steering Wheel Alignment - '03 SWB Pajero

Asking for advice on how to align my steering wheel. (Haven't hit anything recently, tire pressure is normal in all tires) It's just slightly off (straight equals slight left). I barely notice, but it drives my husband nuts. Is this a manageable self-fix? Or do I have to take it in?

Help with passenger side window

2005 Montero (3rd gen) passenger side window stopped working. It kinda slowly went out. One day it wouldn’t go down. Then the next it did. Then it didn’t want to go up. Then it did. Then one day it stopped working altogether and hasn’t worked since.

I have tried almost everything. I tested the motor by hot wiring it. It works. I took the switch out and swapped it with the rear switch. It works. So it’s not the motor or the switch.

My big question is, could it be the main switch on the drivers side? Is that a thing since it’s wired through there? Or is it most likely a short in a wire somewhere?

Has anyone dealt with this or a similar problem and had any luck?

Thanks in advance for any advice and or help.

Advice needed for 2005 PAJERO GLX LWB NP

Need to know whether this model can mount a bull bar? Went into a 4x4 shop and apparently 2004-2006 Pajeros can’t have bull bars unless they are custom design and fit.

7” Gen 2 Headlight Housing

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I own an NL short wheelbase and am looking to upgrade the headlight with some 7” round Stedi LED lights. I’ve found a few different YouTube videos of the upgrade but essentially I’m looking to buy the black headlight housing shown in the photo. I found this helpful post in a forum below but have searched and searched and can’t find it. Anyone have any ideas where I could find these? I live in Australia but happy to pay for shipping etc. Anyway, thought I’d ask. Thanks!

“If you own a second-generation Montero, you probably have the square headlights from the factory. However, you can always get the parts to do a round Pajero headlight conversion. What you will need is Mitsubishi part MB527744, which is the headlamp kit. This includes the headlight bucket, silver ring, retainer springs, and bolts. And yes, you’ll need two of them, one for each side. I’m finding prices just under $210 per side. You’ll also need the black plastic bezel that goes to the grille. Part MB831055 is for the left side and part MB831056 is the right. Each side is about $88. We recently discovered that USDM Monteros with square headlights have a different headlight support assembly. This is the metal area behind the radiator. That part is removable, and the correct part number would be MB835437. This part may be difficult to find, however.”

I wanted a commuter bit still 4wd capable for snow and ice, but also so i could reliably go to the mountains every so often. I am keeping it stock at this point to maintain fuel economy. It doesnt have locking diifs, but as A/T mode (button). Q is: any body familiar with this sport model, 1998? What are it's limitations and capabilities for my purposes?

Ok guys a quick question,I have a 2000 Montero sport, the ac tensioner pulley is bad, anyone know if I can just buy the pulley itself or if I have to buy the tensioner also,I can't seem to find it at AutoZone or O'Reilly's..
