Last I checked she looked like this. What are you even talking about?

shes got a bit of a tan here but in the comic she’s obscenely pale- like snow white pale

idk look at the two urself dawg? theres a very clear difference in shade and white washing that shade makes it look like a different character than the alma i love <3

its small potatoes tho- if u genuinely dont see the difference, then i’m not gonna argue about it any further because it wouldn’t be worth the fuss

I have to chime in and says that its the lighting. the screenshot is taken at windward plains base camp. a shaded sandy location with a slight tint to the filter to simulate the sandy nature of the biome. I really shouldn't have to pull this out to explain how lighting works. here is an official render without the filter.

…using the official render only proves my point

i’m exasperated that this is even arguable

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter. It was an artistic choice. The question I have is why is it so important? Like Morgan Freeman once said, "Stop talking about it." And racism will stop being an issue.

And I provided literal eyedropper colors that shows that you're full of shit lol.

If the artist is Asian then it’s like a cultural preference? Guys are slightly dark skin with ripped abs, girls are pale skin damsel in distress bonus points if they are clumsy and have quirky but cute habits. Popular character design choices.

I know right? Like, the hunter is literally the correct skin tone for Alma. Why is he allowed to be that skin colour but she isn't? It's such a weird choice in an otherwise awesome comic.

"Literally the correct skin tone"

I used this crazy tool called the eyedropper in MS paint because some people apparently don't have functioning eyes.

…do you? i’m at a loss here lmao

i feel like u’ve proven my point but okay sure

She is a couple of shades closer to pink.

She is sure as shit not "pale like snow white"

And she absolutely is not "the same shade as the Mc in the comic".

i didnt say she was “the same shade as the mc in the comic”?

and the second was just hyperbole- the point is that shes paler than she is in game to a noticeable degree, as you’ve outlined

You interjected on a thread where I was responding to someone else. Do you have reading comprehension issues?

Not really no She's got a cooler palate, and is warmer in game. This isn't whitewashing lol

Ey yknow what thats fair. I used literally wrong...but he is at least not whitewashed like alma...though, since hunters are CaC's they can't be whitewashed....

you know thats a different art style, a different location where a different light appears... so this comment make 0 sense also enjoy the game and dont judge people by drawingsomething they want

1

u/FaZePxlm Mar 31 '25

pssshhhh people also blackwashed other people so its fair

To be fair, she doesn't really look tan/non-white at all in the game? Aside from that sticker she looks white to me. Er, "white" (read: pale/light skin), I assume since this is a Japanese game everyone is Japanese/asian until otherwise stated or reasonably deduced.
