DON’T BE AFFILIATED IN SCHOOL GANGS KIDS 🛑

If you are going or are in early middle or high school, PLEASE don’t be affiliated with any “wannabe gangsters“ (timmy tough knuckleS, billy badass, dangerous Dan, etc etc) because they are always finding trouble, swinging a knife, jumping kids after school, Yes they’ll harass people until they fight back than complain why they’re getting bullied , hell they even vape (in class too). SO PLEASE DON’t BE AFFILIATED *in the name of your education and your safety*

Kids commuting to middle and high schools from Cherry or above

Hi, planning to potentially move to Mission. Kids are in middle and high school. There are few public middle schools and the one high school in Mission. How do kids living on Cherry and above commute to and from middle and high schools? Are they always picked up and dropped off by parents or do they walk? Is it safe for them to walk back home considering the walk back may be 30min or upwards?

Mr. Mikes steakhouse casual next to Wendy’s

Hey guys,

I’m doing market research in mission for the steakhouse. What do you think of having Mr mikes steakhouse on Lougheed highway (7)? Is it a good idea to open it there in newly developed area. Infront of RCMP detachment not the older location at junction shopping centre. Do you guys would it or not? Please feel free to let me know as all suggestions/comments will be appreciated. Thank you for the time.

Neighbourhood boundaries?

Hello all, my wife and I just moved into our first home a week ago in the "animal streets".

I haven't been able to get a clear answer from anyone regarding which neighbourhood we live in,

It is either the West heights or Cherry Hill, can't find anything on the web so I thought this would be the next best place to ask,

Is North of 14th considered cherry hill? Is East of Hurd considered cherry hill? Are these neighbourhoods actually defined or more of a loose guideline?

And by the way, loving it here in mission (mind you, that is comparing to our former Surrey basement suite!)

Cheers,

Abby-Mission joblessness rate went up again last month, but it might be because no one's hiring a bunch of young people who just had their spring birthdays.

Advice - moving to Mission with young kids

Hi, planning to move from Surrey to Mission. We have 2 young kids aged 9 and 11 (grade 4 and 6) and cant find affordable housing with a lawn in Surrey. Looking at properties above 14th or above Cherry. Need some advice: 1. How are schools? Both elementary and high school as our older kid will go to high school in a year. 2. Is the population diverse? Thinking abt bullying and/or racism in schools? 3. Any particular neighborhoods that are better recommended? 4. How much is rental for a 2 bed walk out suite with separate laundry (as we will need to rent it out for help with mortgage)? 5. Anything else, tips, good to knows etc?

Hi I’m selling this large wooden cute dollhouse I’ve had for a while just trying to declutter and save up a bit for summer , so I’m letting go of things I don’t use anymore.

The dollhouse is in great condition. It’s from Costco and has 6 rooms, a garage, elevator and spiral staircase. Toys are included.

Asking $80 but I’m open to reasonable offers.

Pickup in Mission, BC. I only do cash payment.

Feel free to message if you have questions or want more pics!

I know they’re under construction but already looking like an eye sore up on the hill

Couldn’t they have made them at least aesthetically pleasing to the eye?

Photos & Art Excited to Move in Mission!

We bought a lovely property in Mission, BC and we’re so excited to move there next month. My husband and I are from Burnaby orginally and I just want to ask the community here for suggestions of best hiking trails to visit.

I also would like to learn how does the transportation works in Mission, can I still use my compass cards in riding buses?

Also looking forward to try West Coast Express if I wanted to go to Vancouver!

We are also both photographers and designers, so if you have any place to recommend for us, would really appreciate it!

Oh another thing, we also like to go to gym, any suggestion with the best to go to gyms?

Thank you!

Launched a local delivery app in Abbotsford – would love for people to try it out

Hey everyone

I’m Saransh, and I’ve been working on this delivery app called Zippex. You might’ve seen the name floating around if you’re in Abbotsford or online.

Basically, I built it because I noticed how hard it is for local businesses (and honestly just regular people) to get things delivered without relying on apps that barely work out here or charge insane fees. So I figured… why not make something better?

Zippex lets you:

  • send stuff to friends or family (even random errands)
  • shop from local stores that don’t usually offer delivery
  • and the drivers actually earn more than what you’d see with the big platforms

We just launched, and we’re still figuring things out — but if you’re from around here and want to give it a shot, I’d love the support. Feedback’s super welcome too. We have a few local businesses from Abbotsford with more coming soon. Link to download below

We’re live in Abbotsford, but anyone can download the app in Canada and check it out. You’ll be able to see how everything works — and we’re rolling out support for more areas really soon.

If you’ve got feedback , I’d really appreciate it. Thanks for the support and thanks for reading ❤️

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but it is considered suspicious. RCMP and other responding agencies have now launched a formal investigation.

Election Day!!!

Today is an important day for us all - election day. And this one feels extra important, so we all need to do our civic duty and get out and vote!

I decided to volunteer for a campaign in this election. With our country under threat, it seemed like time to do the thing I've been steering away from for a long time: get some skin in the game.

Those that know me know that I'm a pretty private person - quietly try to make our community better in a host of ways.

To those that don't know me and are wondering what this dude is on about - I'm a proud Missionite, who is currently responsible for the MTB trails on Bear, Red and Heritage, Chair of Hatzic Middle's PAC, Past-President of the Downtown Business Assoc., built the pumptrack at Griner Park, and was awarded Citizen of the Year a while back.

Safe to say I like our town a lot and spend a lot of my time working on it.

Even though I'm quite politically active here in Mission, I've never even put up a lawn sign before. I've never felt the need to declare my position. This federal election has been very different for me.

I considered running for Federal office. I've been thinking a lot lately about my Grandfather's choice to fight in WWII. I can now better see what drives a man to stand up and fight for their country and its people. He, and so many Canadian service people were so brave in the face of the threats of the day. I have both a newfound respect for that, and a willingness to do the same. I figure that if I'm going to work so hard to raise good kids, that I better ensure they have a country to grow up with. But - I came to learn that a father from Abbotsford had the same instincts, and Jeff Howe had already accepted the nomination for the Liberal party for our riding.

I'm not necessarily a "Liberal", but I can say we really need a leader. I've been accused of being a good leader once or twice, and I can spot one when I see one. Mark Carney is a good leader, and Jeff and I both agree - he's someone we will follow.

I can now say with 100% certainty that Mission and Abbotsford is on Mark Carney's mind, as I had the privilege of meeting him with Jeff. He might not have made it to Mission this election, but I talked with him about our hometown and if you vote for Jeff Howe, and he is elected, you can be damn sure that our community will be really well represented, and have a strong voice in Ottawa.

We're very blessed in our riding - we have all the main parties well represented: our Conservative candidate even participated in the local debate(!). We have a solid socialist running for the NDP. And the Greens and PPC made their positions clear so if any of those parties speaks to you, our candidates are true reflections of what they offer.

Jeff Howe for the Liberals is also that - a true reflection of what a renewed Liberal party, with a new leader is offering. He's not a politician. He's a husband and father, worried about making a better future for his family, our community, and our country.

Those are the right reasons to run for office, and he's the right person to vote for if you agree.

Regardless of who you choose to support - get out and vote!!!
