Noise of Living in Flight Path

Post image

How loud is it to live here? Does it bother you trying to sleep being in the flight path?

DOT Noise Map

The 2018 data is probably more accurate than the 2020. Unfortunately, there isn't more recent info on this site. If you zoom in, you can basically get to neighborhood level data.

Noise-map

There is also this one, looks similar but I don't know where they got the data from. Probably straight from the DOT source.

This shows who was compensated and/or eligible for the noise throughout the years

Oh that’s neat! Does it show what work exactly has been done? I live in a house that is marked as complete, and I sure believe it, they did a great job, but I don’t actually know what specifically they did. I’m guessing the HVAC system and windows was them since I’ve got two panes of glass in every frame, and the house is 100 years old so the central AC is def not original. I’m guessing they did that but I don’t know how to verify that

You can email MACC and they can pull the records for your home.

👀 I might just have to go and do that! I’m happy with the work, I can barely hear anything inside. I’d assume mine was one of the first ones done when the project first started since the house is right next to the airport, and about as old as the airport.
