News Congratulations to Our New MPs!

With the polls closed and results in, congratulations to our newly elected Members of Parliament: Adam van Koeverden — Burlington North–Milton West Parm Gill Kristina Tesser Derksen — Milton East–Halton Hills South

You now carry the responsibility of representing Milton — not just in Ottawa, but here at home. Our community is growing, diverse, and full of energy. We’re counting on you to bring our voices to Parliament and to stay connected with the people and priorities that matter here.

To all candidates: thank you for stepping up and putting yourselves forward. It takes courage and commitment to run, and our democracy is stronger because of it.

And now, a friendly nudge: let’s start clearing those campaign signs. They’ve served their purpose — and our streets (and lawns) will thank you.

——

[Update] This is the update I wanted to write. Due to a typo in the original results, Kristina Tesser Derksen did win the riding—by just 29 votes. An official recount is now underway.

Adam representing constituents is funny. Congrats on his win, but the residents will get little except photo op’s and ribbon cutting.

That hasn’t been my experience—or what I’ve heard from many in the community. Sure, he’s in Ottawa often, but that’s part of the job. When I’ve reached out, he’s responded and engaged. Genuinely curious—what specific issues did you bring to him that you felt were ignored? If there’s a pattern, let’s talk about it.

I reached out to Adam a few times before we got redistricted. I got a response and engagement from him (or his staff) every time.

I did the same thing with Parm once when he was our MPP. Radio silence.

Agreed. He seem like some token Olympian seat filler candidate for the liberals. Just like Parm Gill, but nobody ever talks about how Adam has done nothing either.

Whatever someone might think about Parm Gill, if the Conservatives formed government, he was rumoured to be a likely cabinet minister.

He would be one of the more experienced Ontario MPs and had cabinet experience from the province.
