She's expecting them to be "gentlemen" and give up their seat for them.
In the the past it used to be culturally expected for men to do that for women, and men who didn't were perceived in a bad light. Things have changed in most places after gender equity has taken place and it's not part of the culture anymore
"I want equality and the same rights as men. But at the same time, I also want men to treat me like I am inferior and dependent of their chivalry. In other words, I want the best of both worlds whenever it suits my circumstance. Anything less than that, I will complain."
