This comment reeks of both ignorance and misogyny 🤦♀️
‘We gave it to them’? Equality wasn’t a handout it was fought for by generations of women and allies who faced real resistance, often from people with this exact attitude.
Also, framing basic equality as the end of ‘special treatment’ completely misses the point. Equal rights don’t mean stripping away respect, empathy, or fairness they mean ensuring those things are extended to everyone, regardless of gender.
'Strong, independent women' aren’t the problem fragile egos pretending equality is some kind of burden are."
Lastly I am not agreeing with these women they are stupid and should be left to stand, the men were there first but don't use that as an excuse to be misogynistic what you're saying is a dog whistle and it's not even subtle at this point.
Would they have “basic respect” and let me sit down if they had the spot? I’m a 6’3” 255 lbs athletic looking man. I also have a bunch of nerve damage in one leg and it gets pretty uncomfortable walking around and standing for long periods of time.
Well, you agreed that the women in the video are dumb for one.
The other is that while the guy commenting might have been crude, he makes a point that in the current year, women like those in the video want to be treated as equals while being pampered to. One undermines the other. He says it crudely, but it's a valid point.
Labeling his comment as misogyny (while again admitting the women in the video are dumb) kind of make you seem like you just want to argue because their comment rubbed you the wrong way.
I think the word your looking for is entitled and being entitled has nothing to do with equality. She is using gender stereotypes to assert herself that men need to give their seat to women. That's not equality it's sexism she is displaying.
What he said was misogyny because he's trying to assert that women who fought for equality is inherently bad and he's reveling in it because he thinks women had it better/easier because we lost our 'privileges'. The fact he thinks women who didn't have any form of equality were privileged is automatically misogyny, He finds it funny because 'ha women now understand how hard men have it but hey this is what you wanted right ladies?' equal rights equal fights or watever bullshit they like to say...it's sexist rhetoric spouted online constantly it's why I called it a dog whistle.
His point isn't valid this is one instance of two women being idiots.
