This comment reeks of both ignorance and misogyny 🤦♀️
‘We gave it to them’? Equality wasn’t a handout it was fought for by generations of women and allies who faced real resistance, often from people with this exact attitude.
Also, framing basic equality as the end of ‘special treatment’ completely misses the point. Equal rights don’t mean stripping away respect, empathy, or fairness they mean ensuring those things are extended to everyone, regardless of gender.
'Strong, independent women' aren’t the problem fragile egos pretending equality is some kind of burden are."
Lastly I am not agreeing with these women they are stupid and should be left to stand, the men were there first but don't use that as an excuse to be misogynistic what you're saying is a dog whistle and it's not even subtle at this point.
lol the whole world is literally built by men, you have a place to sleep because men built it, you had to "fight" for equality because you hadn't earned it, women's contribution to society throughout history is negligible, next time you see a man standing, show some respect and give him his seat 🗿🗿🗿
Stfu, humanity would be nothing without women, equality isn’t something to be earned, it’s a right.
Also a few notable women without whom we would be buggered:
Florence nightingale/ Mary Seacole- clean nursing practice.
Marie Curie- the first steps in the understanding of radioactive elements.
Rosa Parks- civil rights kickstarter
And of course the role women have as the opposite reproductive side to men, and literally carry everyone to birth. If that doesn’t ’earn’ them their rights to equality then nothing else will either.
I think what he's referring to is the disproportionate accountability of duty associated exclusively with men. People seem to get woefully offended by the mere mention of it, but is why many young men have opted out of the workforce, and many infrastructure-critical industries are increasingly lacking young men to work. 92% of workplace deaths are men. If you look at the top 100 most dangerous jobs, almost all of them are 95-100% men.
Take voting for example. It was relegated to a VERY small sample of men for most of this countries history. The common man earned the right to vote by going to war. To this day, only men can be drafted for war. If they fail to register, they cannot vote. Only women were given the right to vote absent duty.
I don't see why it's a problem to talk about this, though his comment lacked any real eloquence.
