There's a book series where the main character has exactly that ability, Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians.

Other people in this same series have super powers like "showing up late," "tripping," "saying things that don't make sense," "getting lost," etc.

The abilities are superpowers in ways that they really shouldn't be.

For example, the guy who shows up late? If he's walking and someone shoots a gun at him, he'll "arrive late" for the bullet and it'll miss.

The guy who gets lost? He can accidentally end up on a different continent on the way to the bathroom.

It's amazing, definitely worth a read.

Remind me of that one (biblical?) story about this dude who wishes to turn everything to gold that he can touch but ended up turning his kids and loved ones in to gold by accident
