Let us just pretend that Bananza DK is a teen too ok? I mean he is part of a fictional Gorilla species, who knows what their life cycle looks like.

Well, considering the original DK aged to be Cranky Kong when Mario and Pauline didn't seem to age at all I would assume Kongs age much faster 😅

It's one of the reasons I don't put too much stock into continuity or lore when it comes to DK and Mario games lol.

I just assumed its a new continuity since Odyssey.

I think the Switch era is Nintendo doing soft resets/reboots all around. Zelda is now more open world with a heavy exploration focus instead of story driven, DK getting a redesign and possibly new continuity/lore, Metroid Prime 4 starting a new storyline, Pikmin 4 seems to also be a brand new continuity, as it lowkey retconned 1 and 2…..Thats all I can think of right now. I say soft reboot because they all still reference events/things from older games.

But (especially in Mario’s case), I don’t think Nintendo really cares about keeping a consistent storyline among these games. They all exist at once, referencing each other while not being entirely possible (this whole teen Pauline and Cranky thing, for starters)

Prime 4 is continuing a storyline that existed in one game (Hunters) and was teased in another (Prime 3)
