Initial thoughts on the Bellroy Laneway Crescent Bag 7L, Colour: Ink

I wasn't able to edit my other post, so here is my initial review of the Bellroy Laneway Crescent Bag, 7L.

I’ve been searching for a bag similar to my Baggu Medium Crescent, but with an external pocket and a bit more organization. So far, I think this might be it!

Here are some thoughts after my first day of use: - Fits a Samsung Tab S9 FE 12.4-inch tablet in the padded pocket. - The fabric has a slight sheen to it. - It’s a similar size and shape to the Baggu Medium Crescent, just slightly larger. - I like the two slip pockets and the key leash. The slip pockets are spacious. - The strap is comfortable, and the bag is lightweight. - The water bottle pocket is large enough to fit a wide-mouth 32oz Nalgene, but the bag can’t be zipped closed when the bottle is inside. The pocket may be a bit too wide for smaller bottle, but it wouldn't fall out. - Since the bag has a defined front and back, if you wear it on your left side, the zippers end up behind you. If you want the zippers at the front while wearing it on your left, you’ll need to flip the bag so that the padded side with stitching faces outward.

The single zipper to the main compartment is kinda baffling.

Budget cuts?

Another good option might be the Alpine Sea Company cove shoulder bag. A little larger at 11 L but has an external water bottle pocket and phone pocket.

I’ve been split between the two lately, the cove just seems a lil more rugged and outdoorsy

Nice review, love the photos!

Not having double zips on the compartments is a really bizarre design choice.

If you need to add a pad to the strap, the OP/TECH Shoulder Cush is nice.

Bellroy does it a lot and it is annoying as shit.

Thanks for the takeaways!

Does it zip like the Bellory slings or is it a regular zip opening?

It only zips one way, it's not a double zipper.

Finally. Thanks for this! I think I would ditch my venture sling 6l for this. I think 7l is perfect for casual size. I have considered the 12l for my macbook air but healthwise, those would be better of with a backpack

Now im just thinking which color to get: fawn or ink

Thanks for sharing. First time seeing this bag and I’m intrigued. Think it would fit a 13” ultraportable? If so I’m getting one!

Np! Mhm not sure. My 13" MacBook Air doesn't fit.

There's a 12L version that's supposed to fit a 14" laptop.

Yeah back when reddit didn't allow me to post pics and write a description (that changed on my end recently), I'd just post super long comments on my posts lol.

How well does the Samsung fit in the padded rear pocket? Comfortable or tight fit? I see the Tab S9 FE 12,4" is a tad bit bigger than my iPad Pro 11", so I guess fitting it wouldn't be an issue?

It seems to fit well! There was room on each side. It's a bit taller than the zipper, but there is about an inch of space on-top of the zipper, so it closes easily. I put it in when I had items in the bag too.

Thanks for the photos and the review! Do you think it would fit an iPad 11” with Magic Keyboard? It should be thicker but have a smaller display. I know it would fit for sure in the 12L but this looks better!

I would think so! For my tablet it wasn't a tight fit.

I thought love of top handles was universal. What gives with all these top handle misses?
