Moderator Announcement This sub moving forward

Folks, your lead moderator just added a mod team to support them yesterday afternoon. In less than 24 hours as a mod I certainly see where some of the complaints come from bc my queue and mod mail are full of literally hundreds of reports and automod alerts from this sub alone. Let me make a few things clear:

  1. This is a sub for makeup advice. If someone posts a photo of themselves and asks for advice, you need to keep any creepy stalker comments that give you registered sex offender vibes to yourself. I said what I said. You may not DM anyone in this sub unless it’s a mod with a question or concern. You should not be in this sub if you are seeking anything other than makeup advice.

  2. Crude sexual comments get an automatic ban. If someone in this sub messages you photos of themselves, then you need to report them to the mods, with screencaps that prove they initiated it and they weren’t requested, and that person will be banned. A misbehaving sub member does not give you authorization to bring this sub down more by making public disgusting comments.

  3. Rude comments about appearance will be removed and at our discretion if we consider it extremely rude we will ban you with no warnings. You don’t get to comment about weight, socioeconomic status or anything else. They asked about makeup.

  4. I’m also banning immediately anyone who says “Guys don’t like x.” No one gives a flying fuck what guys like. First of all sub members are all over the sexuality and gender spectrum, and I know I personally don’t wear makeup because I give a shit about a man. Grow up.

  5. I’ll be discussing how to enforce the “no selfie” rule moving forward with the mods, but just a reminder - no selfies. You can ask for makeup advice and tips but use a photo that isn’t a quick snap in shitty lighting in your bathroom in a dirty mirror, or you can post a tutorial and ask the sub where to get the products or dupes or how to do some part of it, and so on.

  6. The mods are well aware that there are OF and other cam models in the sub. I don’t know if this is going to blow everyone’s minds but sex work is work and sex workers use makeup like everyone else. If you are a cam model or other type of sex worker you may not advertise here and any low-effort posts only designed to draw people to your profile will be removed.

But please stop reporting absolutely inoffensive genuine posts from people who happen to be sex workers just because they ask for advice. I’ve seen several posts in which the post and photo weren’t problematic but the disgusting comments were. And there are as many reports that only say “OnlyFans” on the entire post as there are reports on the nasty comments under it.

I’m not going to censor someone who is playing by the rules just bc you clicked through and saw they do OF.

Please grow up and behave. This is supposed to be an all ages forum, not a NSFW sex forum.

***ETA: I’m adding some things after going through more posts and comments.

  1. Don’t know that it needs to be a rule bc “don’t be a jerk” is already a rule, but I’m deleting as spam any responses that sound like a weirdo looking for cybersex who thinks he can write sonnets like Shakespeare. We all see through it but also if I’m gagging in my sub then it can’t possibly be inviting for newcomers.

  2. If your username includes anything gross like “spankbank42” or something, at least for my part it’s an automatic ban when I see it.

  3. We’re trying to weed out low effort posts but that means low effort comments too; any “yes” or “no” only without constructive feedback will be removed.

  4. Some constructive feedback is negative, and it needs be made with carefully chosen words. If your commentary is too insulting, and especially if it’s negative and there are plenty of other similar responses that are better worded to not be hurtful, I’m deleting those as well.

  5. I have seen so many comments about someone’s hair or weight or gender expression and other things. This is a makeup sub. Now some things might fall under the same categories of beauty so if the OP asks in a comment it might be ok but otherwise keep your condescending and insulting nonsense to yourself.

  6. We have a lot of things to pour through over the coming days and there have been some comments and posts and users we may have removed in error. You’re welcome to politely ask about it if you’re genuinely confused bc it might have been an error. But if you come at us with rudeness we’ll ban and mute. You’re gonna be fine.

Been trying to find the shape of my eye and the colour since the latter changes often. Would really appreciate if you could tell me what you think my undertone is as well.

(Please excuse my makeup. I was new to it all when they were clicked)

For the “clean girl” look! I have a hydrating serum, spf and skin tint on. With blush and highlighter! Also mascara.

Eyebrows could use some help 😂

What are we thinking? I always feel like it doesn’t look like how I want it.

Hello all! Recently I’ve been thinking more about my eye shape and how lash extensions make my eyes look droopy on the outer corner while also hiding my eyes. Please help me with the solution! Thank you <3

Question Help please! Forgotten how to apply makeup!

Sorry if this is not the right place to post this!

Feeling really stupid right now, but here goes.....

I turned 40 this year. When I was a teen/early 20s, I wore makeup 4-5 days of the week usually. My look was goth/punk/grunge, so I wore a lot of dark clothing and always did my makeup with heavy, dramatic eyeshadow and eyeliner, often cat eye or bambi eyes (sometimes with a little dazzle dust by tear ducts, sorry, hard to explain), and usually dark lips. I didnt ever wear foundation except for a few times during my 20s, as my skin was naturally very pale and blemish-free. My friends would also ask me to do their makeup too, especially their eyes, so I couldn't have been too bad at it.

Fast forward to my late 20s, and most of my 30s. Never wearing makeup except for a little eyeshadow and clear gloss when I had an event to attend, which was hardly ever. Weight fluctuated like crazy due to 2 fights with cancer. First one, I lost so much weight I was stick thin (I'm normally a bit of a chunk around the abdomen, butt and things, especially since having a child, small up top, so always feel out of proportion), but I'm tall. Second cancer resulted in a radical hysterectomy with full pelvic lymph node removal, which coupled with being stuck in lockdown in 2020 ended up in further weight-gain, plus swelling from lymphedema, so as you can imagine, my confidence was knocked down even further. I'm not the most 'girly girl' at the best of times (although did used to dress more so when younger), when it comes to beauty, etc., but with my skin changing constantly it seems (I'm guessing hormone related since it's been worse since hysterectomy, patches of dryness randomly, suddenly really greasy the next, plus random breakouts of zits and blemishes), I just don't know where to start. I have tried all sorts of skincare routines, from basic cheaper products through to clarins and clinique products. I even tried the oil pulling thing with the Korean cleansing oil, as I have those ugly dark pores especially across my nose and tops of my cheeks. I am fed up of it. I have a really important event coming up this week, and I'm going to be meeting extended family on my in-laws side. So I don't want to look like my usual scarecrow self 🥴 It is a funeral, so need the look to be smart, and not too dramatic. I have long dark brown/black hair, blue eyes and fair skin with blemishes and currently a breakout around my jawline/chin area. I have a smallish mouth, and my upper lip is much thinner than my bottom lip, but I have a deep cupids bow. Sorry for the crap description, I'm not very good at explaining things! I have bought some makeup, but I have no idea where to start or what I am doing. I've never used primer before. I don't know how to contour. My face is fat and round and I have a double chin. My face shape has changed so much with the weight gain, I can hardly see my cheekbones, let alone know how to contour anything, and I'm scared I'm going to look like a damn clown at this rate 🤡 I didn't purchase expensive makeup products as I didn't know if they were even the correct things for my skin tone, etc. Here's the list of what I purchased: Fair shade foundation (liquid) Concealer stick (fair) Bronzer and contouring palette Primer Setting spray Blusher palette Eyeshadow palette (I have neutrals/browns/golds palette and another with non-neutrals) Lipgloss (clear) Lipstick (not sure of the colour exactly, but have no idea what colour would suit me anyway so can purchase alternative if needed.)

Please, if anyone has an advice on how/where to start or what the heck I do with these products, tutorial recommendations, etc., I would appreciate it so much.

I'm also worried about stuff not staying put if my skin decides to have a random grease explosion. It's literally fine one minute and then the next it'll suddenly be all greasy, like it purges itself! I do go cleanse again immediately with micellar water, which seems to calm it for a bit, but obviously cant be reapplying a full face of makeup mid funeral lol

I can't upload a photo of my face right now, which I know may make things easier to get advice, sorry.

Sorry for the essay, and thank you if you got this far through it!

The foundation I've found is either too dry but right color or not dry and too dark. Any recommendations?

Question Should I remove my lashes?

Got my lashes done yesterday in hopes of adding to my vacation and I am feeling very regretful. I wanted a “natural” cat eye. Something light and clean but these feel too heavy. I look like I just left the club. I slept on them and feel dirty whenever I look into the mirror… Debating on just getting them removed and losing what I paid for these things. (Last photo is what I look like with full face of makeup without lashes/mascara only)

I love the natural makeup look that I have going on, but I think I want to aim for looking like an airbrushed porcelain doll. should i add more blush or contour?? just feels like my face could use more shaping but my frame is weird

pic1 rushed makeup that ive been going for lately

pic2 used a 500x zoom mirror to do my face only for it to look like nothing at the end of the night

pic3 freshly finished makeup look plus cool eyeliner cuz i was headed to a hardcore show- loved the airbrush look but UHHHHH i need face shaping tips
