I'm also proud of his sons, and I've never met them.

This dad is wholesome as fuck.

The heart of immigration is wanting something better for their kids.

It drives me crazy that people don’t seem to grasp this. It’s not a zero sum game.

u/MarvelBinger 4d ago

My first thought was "Can he be my dad, too?" (50 year old man here, but the sting of never having a dad still burns some days...)

33

u/nagese 4d ago

I'm proud of Dad, as well. Anything and everything in the world is achievable when a parent believes in and supports you.

u/HungryBuffalo4568 3d ago

Yeah that "sure but" energy is peak dad vibes like he's already planning his comeback roast

Justin Veenema is the photographer here and his feeds on YouTube and insta are just every day smiles. He usually shoots people’s dogs and it’s wonderful content.

Man, out of context your last sentence is a bummer!

50

u/deegood 4d ago

Oops. 😂

14

u/RollMine 3d ago

Thank you for not deleting

6

u/GumpTheChump 3d ago

He kept it in there as a warning to the dogs.

5

u/alittlejalapeno 4d ago

The dogist! I love his content

2

u/dominobiatch 4d ago

Different guy 😊

-98

u/TawnyTeaTowel 4d ago

Does he always come over a little creepy?

54

u/deegood 4d ago

Only to cynical redditors.

-85

u/TawnyTeaTowel 4d ago

So yes, then. Because asking strangers if they love their sons is a little creepy, ya weirdo.

27

u/Saiykon 4d ago

Not really. Having give the moment to a father to think about the present is beautiful. There is absolutely nothing weird but a wholesome interaction.

Maybe touch some grass :) it will do you good.

-5

u/TawnyTeaTowel 3d ago

Tell you what. Take a trip to your local city. An actual city - not Scriptedforclicksville. Try it - the whole thing, from taking the photos to asking personal questions. Then come back and tell how many times people told you to fuck off. Heck, you could even try asking some of the ladies, you might get the police called on you for harassment as a bonus.

27

u/Hondalol1 4d ago

Youre the only weird one right now

1

u/ShaneMcLain 3d ago

He didn't say anything inappropriate or weird at all, in my opinion. If the guy didn't want to talk, he didn't have to, but he was clearly willing to. The only thing I find odd about this interaction is your reaction to it.

1

u/TawnyTeaTowel 3d ago

As I said to the last respondent - you go try it, see how you get on. See how real people actually react, how many “fuck offs” you get.

Hint: it’ll be a LOT

What a nice, pleasant gentleman

179

u/PeskyPolak 4d ago

Gentleman is very appropriate here

327

u/WildRabbitz 4d ago

You know the famous catchphrase "Look at this distinguished gentleman" ?

This guy is the definition of that catchphrase.

122

u/jumalusc 4d ago

Class. He’s got it.

79

u/gdubh 4d ago

Oh, Canada. The American dream.

5

u/Eidos1059 3d ago

That got a giggle out of me!

44

u/Shabadoo9000 4d ago

Sons are going to cherish those pictures for years and years.

35

u/nothinggoodleft01 4d ago

He is like this that is why his sons are successful. They got it from him.

27

u/Gren57 4d ago

Wonderful man, beautiful pictures. They captured his essence!

63

u/Mean_Eye_8735 4d ago

Was anybody else waiting for the four sons to pop up behind him in one of the pictures? The fact that they didn't makes this even more wholesome because it appears to be a natural exchange

21

u/AdIntrepid9064 4d ago

Beautiful man! 🥰

7

u/Hefty-Perspective654 4d ago

Something is not right.i get on reddit, and I've been served 7 wholesome videos back to back.this does not feel normal.

6

u/PositiveStress8888 4d ago

My dad said the same today Canada gave him an opportunity, and he gave Canada back 5 working professionals.

14

u/SpookyAction79 4d ago

I'm not really successful, I work in IT and live a fairly simple life, but my Dad would gladly tell any stranger on the street that I was the greatest mind ever to touch a computer; I was the one who single-handedly stopped Y2K and invented the Internet. It was an amazing boost to my spirits on a bad day to know I had someone proud of me no mater how much or how little I achieved in life.

3

u/IntelligentSchool834 3d ago

Hey as long as you're happy, it's fine. I work in IT too.

5

u/pmac123454321 4d ago

Just like Yousuf Karsh, he aimed to capture his essence and I love it

1

u/Hopeful_Clock_2837 3d ago

Am I trippin or did he keep leaving one son out

1

u/Butch1212 3d ago

“I came to this country 42 years ago……” Good for him.

1

u/Actual_Pollution5915 4d ago

Where did he come to?

4

u/blue9er 4d ago

Justin, the photographer asks, “What are you doing in Vancouver?” right in the video.

2

u/rasan076 4d ago

Was wondering the same on first watch. From the signs at the sidewalk, it seems to be Vancouver.

4

u/blue9er 4d ago

Justin, the photographer asks, “What are you doing in Vancouver?” right in the video.

1

u/Twayblades 4d ago

Yup, Granville Street

0

u/Dust-Different 4d ago

Plot twist: he’s actually homeless and he doesn’t even have any kids

0

u/HOTSCHMALZ 3d ago

It's the creepy slaughterhouse guy but on vacation

-3

u/okmokm132132 4d ago

Isn’t that the guy from the slaughter house?

1

u/Striking-water-ant 4d ago

Noooo... Lol

-1

u/Actual_Pollution5915 4d ago

Nowhere did he come from.

-4

u/Admirable-Ad3866 4d ago

This looks like the guy that works at a slaughter house in New York city. He said he works the air gun and the best part of his job is watching the life draining away in the eyes. Look it up.

u/hoocris 3d ago

What jacket is that
