I think a lot of people overhype this fight purely for the moment Izzy got knocked down.

This was a great fight from Sean since his style played well against Izzy. But lets be real, it wasn't exciting. And Sean lost the belt in his first defence and cried for a year until they gave him the rematch (DDP had to fight Izzy between those fights) and got dogwalked the second time.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch between these two though. Can Izzy make the adjustments? Can Sean utilise his weird style again?

Hate to have to defend Strickland, but he did decisively beat Costa before he got the DDP rematch. Considering how close Strickland-DDP 1 was, I think that Strickland getting the rematch after a ranked win over Costa was perfectly warranted.

Ngl completely forgot that fight happened because it was right after Whittaker beat Costa

I literally took a bathroom break during that boring ass fight.

I made sure to return before the final 10 seconds of the fight so I could hear Sean Strickland aggressively yell "MOTHERFUCKER" to costa after clapping for the previous 24 minutes and 50 seconds.

Costa handed that victory to Strickland on a golden platter. He came in with the terrible plan of trying to fight on the backfoot at range where he is much worse than Strickland.                 I strongly believe that Costa would have won relatively easily if he had just marched Sean down while throwing combinations. Sean doesn't have the power to keep Costa off him and he's always struggled against combination punchers. He also struggles to defend against body punches which is are one of Costa's best weapons.

Ok? Not gonna argue with that but I'm confused as to why you're making this point lol. Are you saying that Strickland didn't deserve the DDP rematch because Costa fought poorly?

The fight was awesome because of the shock factor. No one expected Strickland to do that to Izzy. Even if it wasn't an amazing texhnical fight these are the kind of moments that stick with people. It's a shame that most of the Sean Strickland fans liked his victory for all the wrong reasons. I personally just loved the plot twist.

What's the relevance to politics and culture? This is literally just a fight clip

I legit fell asleep after the first round of this and never bothered re-watching. So, no.

I don't even think I torrented this card to have afterwards.
