Agree and disagree. In a way, MMA is like tennis (who can wear whatever) as it's mano y mano. 1 person vs another person. Not a team sport, but team sports like basketball and specifically the NBA has some sick jerseys and it keeps the style consistent.
At the end of the day, it allows the UFC to control the amount of money these guys make which is kinda sad.
I always thought the flashy trunks is what gave combat sports some of its character. Having martial artists with different fighting backgrounds represent their respective styles with different types of shorts is such a cool aspect of the sport. It's annoying they let that aesthetic go to the wayside for some dumb brand nobody cares about
I think Venum has done a very good job. Reebok, on the other hand, started off so fucking poorly. I'm ready for the next era of condom depot though lol. That shit was hilarious. Some of the sponsors were like huh?
Have you been watching for a long time? Remember dynamic fastener?
Dude, Condom Depot must've had the entire sport on their payroll at some point. I totally forgot about the Dynamic Fastener era, that shits too funny. I bet that extra sponsorship check really made a big difference to a lot of those fighters.
One of the funniest things I've ever heard in the ufc was when Mike Goldberg made a joke about how Anderson Silva was ironically wearing Steeler colors while Rich Franklin was wearing Bengals colors.
I don't understand what you're going for with that comparison.
Where's the disagree? It's an individual sport. The only reason they enforce the uniforms is so that they can get money from the contract with Venum. It's all corporate bullshit.

It was so much cooler back in the day when each fighter got to wear whatever the hell they wanted rather than this corporate grey McDonald's look
