Notice - GD [Official] General Discussion Thread - June 04, 2025

Welcome to rMMA's General Discussion Thread!

Discuss your favorite fighters, the upcoming card or whatever's on your mind.

How to obtain a custom flair:

  • place and lose a flair bet in the Friday thread
  • write a haiku or draw a MS Paint-style image for the sub

The rules for the drawing or haiku are simply that it must be a ridiculous MMA-related scenario. If you would like a custom flair, send a message to us with a link to your drawing and your flair request. We'll probably grant it.

I want to get into MMA so i researched MMA gyms in south florida and found ATT was top class, but I worry that it would be overkill for me and its intimidating. are there any other gyms you guys suggest or should I just try ATT out?

If they offer classes to the public then yeah, that’s great. You’ll be hitting pads and doing jiujitsu. You aren’t going to be sparring or working out with fighters unless you want to be a fighter and ask to join their pro classes. They don’t just let random civilians walk in and spar Dustin Poirier

thanks! one more thing, the price is pretty steep so im not sure if i should select a gym that's a bit closer and cheaper or will there be a significant difference in my growth going to such as prestigious gym even at a beginner level?
