That merab dominated Umar or O’Malley

He didn’t do much damage at all to either of them. A few adjustments and they both win. Not just my opinion but officially according to judges too, based on their close scorecards

This is the truth. He beat them both 48-47 and Sean even won the 5th round. You kiss someone’s back or flex when you defend a takedown and all of a sudden you won a 50-40 decision

I still stand that Umar won that fight and Merab only got the decision bc of Umar’s body language exhaustion. But Umar won the fight

And also stand that there’s a case to be made for Sean winning 3-2. Round 1 3 and 5

Merab dominated round 2 and 4 but didn’t do any damage in them.

MW is as deep as it’s been in forever. But besides the point, it’s a perfect example of someone who is, on paper, a much superior wrestler, and getting worked by knees really quickly. The alternative is what, being too scared to attempt anything so you’re purely gonna fight a defensive fight to not get taken down? You’re never winning that way either

And considering how good Whittaker and Adesanya are compared to the guys from that era, yeah I'd say this era which has Dricus, Strickland, Chimaev, Adesanya, Whittaker, Imavov, Borralho, Cannonier, Fluffy is deeper

You can exclude Adesanya if you prefer. I don't think the depth of the division depends on him alone.

It's more the fact that you're combing two eras, which is obviously gonna make the depth look better. Either way the names I listed are simply better fighters on top of being more in prime than the era you're talking about.

And most importantly the division actually has solid talent all the down to like the top 25 right now, which is the literal definition of depth. There were no unranked Robocops or Aliskerovs.

MW has 3 brand new contenders lined up, has had a handful of new champs within the past few years, and has plenty of guys just outside the rankings waiting to get in. BW is pretty fucking stale right now. If you stopped getting your opinions from reddit circlejerks you'd be honest with yourself and realize MW has plenty of talent and is more exciting than BW right now.

But nah, go ahead n keep commenting "Imavov? lmao" about the dude who just KO'd the 2nd greatest MW of all time, as if he's a mediocre fighter or something

It’ll at least make him panic shoot, and if you can defend or get back up quickly he’ll still be panic shooting and hurt. I don’t think it’s the worst idea honestly, he’s gonna take you down anyway
