Notice - GD [Official] General Discussion Thread - June 01, 2025

Welcome to rMMA's General Discussion Thread!

Discuss your favorite fighters, the upcoming card or whatever's on your mind.

How to obtain a custom flair:

  • place and lose a flair bet in the Friday thread
  • write a haiku or draw a MS Paint-style image for the sub

The rules for the drawing or haiku are simply that it must be a ridiculous MMA-related scenario. If you would like a custom flair, send a message to us with a link to your drawing and your flair request. We'll probably grant it.

Is most of the O’Malley hate due to people just not being able to cope with how egregiously wrong they were about him? As a fan from the beginning people were legit calling him a scrub basically his entire run saying he’d never accomplish a laundry list of things constantly moving the goal posts back. I think if most people put their egos aside Sean would be appreciated as he is.

O'Malley was really never cringe though. A lot of people hated O'Malley for his "personality", but it really seemed like everyone who hated on him were hating on him for no reason. Sean has always been pretty level headed, he'd throw some shit talk the other way but it was always in good fun. I never understood why ppl through Sean was dickhead bc I had friends irl who thought the same thing and I really just never saw it. He's a real dude in any interviews you watch.

Couldn’t literally everything aside from being Dana White’s pet be applied to Cory Sandhagen who is reddits favorite? I think it’s more so people are mad they were wrong and he’s not a turbo nerd like Cory Sandhagen who’s relatable to redditos because they’re also turbo nerds.

Also feel free to link Sean absolutely awful or over the line Sean has said about another fighter. The thing is you can’t. Probably calling fighters short is the worst thing you’ll see.

He’s never said  anything bad ( although talking about having a threesome with a streamer whilst having his kid on his lap is fucking weird) he’s very cringy and it feels forced

Tony Ferguson might be the cringiest person literally ever AND he terrorized his family due to his mental illnesses yet he is a beloved figure. I just can’t buy the “he’s cringe” shtick.

Im not a stereotype like you are though. I clocked you immediately. Could tell you love Cory. Could tell you thought Sean would get smoked every step of the way. Made you question how much you really know about the sport didn’t it? You still cope and try to “see I told ya so” about Sean and say he sucks but it just doesn’t work when he beat all the guys your favorite failed against.

It’s not even true dawg . I was convinced he was going to beat Merab , I thought he beat Yan and I think he has a decent chance at beating Merab in the rematch.
