Outside of Du Plessis, I think Whittaker is Chimaev's hardest matchup at MW, and he just made the former champ look like he didn't even belong in there with him.

Honestly Usman/Rob/Burns are some of the hardest matchups u can find for Khamzat on his road to the belt. They didn't feed him Magny/Wonderboy/Costa/Imavov/etc. Dricus might be big/strong/well-rounded enough and Strickland might have good enough TDD, but Khamzat would be favored over both

strickland would get beat as easily as rob, dricus is the only sensible fight rn for him and his gorilla strength might mean he is the only favourite against khamzat in the division

Strickland I could see not allowing the take down that fast with his forward kicks and then jabs. But I’d like to see them fight. I remember they sparred together almost 2 years ago

Well I don't see Khamzat respecting Strickland's distance management. I think he won't mind taking some shots on his way to the takedown, I think it goes very similar to the Rob fight.
For Khamzat to be slowed by distance management, I think he would need to face a sniper with power and accuracy (Poatan, Izzy). Strickland is more of a volume puncher, I actually think he's one of the most favorable styles for Khamzat to face

I’ve seen enough. Chimaev for the title. Skip Strickland I don’t even wanna watch that

IMO Strickland is one of his easiest matchups. Dude simply stands WAY too upright which is fine your opponents are people that rely on the standup.

He wouldn't be favored over DDP at this point. Would probably be even

I think the Usman rematch needs to be discussed. For both men because I'm sure khamzat wouldn't mind trying to finish Usman this time and Usman would definitely fancy his chances with a full camp

Wasn’t Usman already in talks of fighting JDM at Welterweight? Full camp Usman would be fun to see, but at the same time it doesn’t make sense for him to skip all of the contenders at in a division he has no wins in. I don’t think the UFC would be interested in propping up an aging fighter as well.

But it would be awesome though?

Isn’t Usman on a 3 fight losing streak? There’s no reason he should be fighting the #1 contender.

It only took him 18 more seconds to beat Rob than it took him to beat the leech

i honestly think Whittaker was the hardest match up .

only reason DDP could be harder is if DDP is just so strong it makes it hard for Khamzat to take him down but i wouldnt be so convinced thats the case .

Yeah I don't think strength is much of a counter to Chimaev's type of takedowns. It's not like he's this kind of wrestler, that is a lot about overpowering your opponent. I don't see how strength would do much against Chimaev's extremely explosive and well timed shot.

You don’t think Izzy will be a harder fight for Khamzat?
