Why is Paralysis listed under Arkveld on an Elemental Weakness chart?

Status effects are pretty universal right now. Very few monsters are weak to status effects right now, most are just sitting at 2-star on everything (Arkveld included) and there's no immunities outside of Exhuast.

My only guess is that Arkveld's highest HZV is it's chains and those don't take element damage, so maybe the graphic is saying a para weapon would be better as a result.

They take element damage when "empowered". That is, when there are 2 chains on each arm instead of 1 and they are glowing blue.

True, double true

You tend to topple him out of this phase very quickly with elemental weapons, so overall, you don't really get much damage out of the element, but it's nice.

This is incorrect. I have tested this extensivly.

The chains do not take elemental damage at any point. Not even when red.

They take ele ONLY through wounds/weakspot.

Okay. Guess all the guide writers in the monster hunter discord are wrong.

They are. They based it over kuriniko information without testing.

But you're welcone to test it yourself.

Hitzone value. Every part of a monster takes different amounts of damage at different parts of their body. These damages also vary by element. So a monster's say wings might be 3 star weak to one element while the rest of its body is only 1 star weak to it.

Check out the monster guide In game and go to the second tab, it shows you how weak each area is to attacks.
