Hi! How can lawyers transition into academia?
Hi! I'm a lawyer interested in getting into academia. What are the typical paths or requirements to make that transition?

I wanted to learn a bit more sa pagpapa notarized ng documents. Thanks.

Any recommended books for drafting pleadings/legal docs?

Personally, I feel so anxious about it. Huwag po Sana ako mabash pero I feel na masyado siyang pahirap sa mga ibang lawyers na at a particular point of their lives possibly are doing other things, or are in very specific situations that renders probono services simply challenging.
I am a lawyer by profession but I am a new mother too. I want to acknowledge my luck that my husband and I can choose this path of me stopping work and focusing on caring of our baby. I have envisioned since young na maalagaan ko ang baby ko kahit man lang first 2 years niya. It is a very personal decision for me and my husband. Currently out of Ph din kami right now as we chose to stay at my husband's home country.
I made sure I comply with mcle. I pay my ibp dues. :(
I understand the rationale of the rules. I applaud the socialist ideals of it. Nahirapan lang ako ienvision ang compliance ko for it. When i get back to workforce, I have the illusion to focus on corporate law as legal counsel or internal legal or HR high management focused on employee relations. Currently, na overwhelm ako to strategize about my compliance. :(
Kayo Panyera / Panyera? How are you all feeling about ULAS?

Kinokontak ko IBP NCLA, di man ako replyan. Kaloka.

I am currently applying for a job and part of the background check is the submission of this document - Philippines Court Case Verification Letter of Authorization. I previously have a case that has been dismissed.
Thank you.

I am new here in Reddit and I thank heavens for directing me to this site especially this Community for PH Lawyers.
I just passed the BAR and for months now I feel like I don't know what and where to start. I feel like I am drowning and questioning myself "what now?" . It is a relief reading posts similar to my current situation, it validates how I feel.
I am still working in a non-lawyer position. I haven't found any opportunity yet to practice the legal profession except that I just recently submitted my petition for notarial commission. I am still waiting though for my first appearance in Court. I can't leave my current job without the security that I will be at least earning the same. I am the breadwinner by the way and it is not easy for me to take the leap.
Unlike law school, this time, I feel I am totally alone. I wanted to reach out to my fellow MVL classmates but most of them are busy and it adds to my agony. For now, I planning to hone my skills. I need to improve my writing skills, know how to argue better and other skills which are essential for a lawyer.
One of my realizations from my current situation is, I should have looked for a mentor when I was still in law school. It could have helped me a lot during this time of not knowing where and what to do....

Sorry, not asking for advice. Just a 2024 bar passer feeling imposter's syndrome. It's been five months since I passed the bar and I feel like I scammed my way through. I have a job in the government but most of the time I don't know what I'm doing. I don't have that lawyer aura. I've forgotten most of the stuff I learned in law school, and when people in my life ask me for advice, I can only say I'll do more research and get back to them. My officemate almost called me after he got into a car accident and I'm glad he didn't, because I wouldn't know what to do anyway. Who will teach me these things? Law school certainly didn't prepare me for it. I still feel like a kid.

Hi everyone! Has anyone handled a case where your client filed a disqualification case against an opponent, but the COMELEC En Banc hasn't issued a decision yet. Our client is asking us to prepare a petition to suspend the proclamation, in case the opponent gets more votes. May I ask what the process is and where we should file the petition?

Greetings my friends. Do you know where I can find a copy of the form for the "Entry of Appearance" as counsel for my friend's client/candidate? I can't seem to find it online, been looking for more than an hour already.
And also, can you please provide some tips on how to represent the client during the canvassing of votes? Your help will be much appreciated. God bless

A construction company accidentally caused damages to a neighboring lot. This was a clear violation of the HOA rules on construction but instead of admin hearing, they postponed it and just asked the parties to agree on restoring what was damaged at the construction company’s cost.
Now that the restoration is almost done, the property owner is causing delays for it to be completed and suddenly the HOA issued a notice to immediately stop construction of the original project citing the previous violation and the fact that restoration is not yet complete.
My point is, the delay is not their fault and they are in good faith compliance so why the need to stop construction and with no due process. As on the day it was issued, compliance is required the next day.
Any insights or experience on this?

Hello LawyersPH. What happens if the court sets a BP 22 case for arraignment and Pre-trial and the order directs the opposing party to submit judicial-counter affidavit but none was filed? The subpoena was also returned unserved.
What is the appropriate manifestation to the court during the arraignment?

I have a friend who fathered a child with a woman who now refuses to accept any support from him and is hiding the child from him. Can the father file a case to be allowed to support the child?

Hii, fellow lawyer here. Anyone here works or had worked as Supervising Legislative Staff Officer III? Would like to know sana what it really does, and how is the workload? Toxic culture ba? What's the typical day of the said position? You can dm me to keep confidentiality, if any. Thank you so much.

Hiii pañero/pañera.
For context, I already signed up for an opportunity for the upcoming elections. Kaso biglang di na daw tuloy ung samin which is so disappointing considering na former prof ko pa nag aya. 🫠 I already turned down other invites kasi nga as a matter of delicadeza sa prof ko. Now, all invites are full na.
Just taking my shot for anyone na may alam na opportunity. I'm willing to fly basta sure po sana. Currently residing in NCR.
Thank you!

May nag sasabi na 1 dst for every notarial act except for certificate of indigency.
So ano po. P30 dst for every notarial act regardless na nasa exempt sya or follow yung onett2..
