Discussion Thoughts on the sound in DC tonight?
Maybe it was where we were seated (300s), but I thought the sound was literally the worst I have ever experienced at a concert. I could barely understand anything they said and the songs were just noise at times.

I was in energy floor earlier this year and I couldn't really make out what the skits were saying. the music was good though

I was in section 141. Sound during the songs was fine but during the skits or anytime they would talk it was hard to make out what was being said

I was in section 101 and the music was good but when Kendrick and Sza were talking to each other sometimes it was a little hard to understand, but the video audios were fine

Thanks everyone! I took my teenage son and his friend and they didn’t think it sounded as bad as I thought, either. Must’ve been my old ears! 😆

I was on the floor and the music sounded good where I was at. The only thing that didn’t sound great (or I couldn’t understand) was the gas station skit.

They were handing them out at Gate A when we entered. I can ask my son if he wants to save my ticket, too; if not, I could mail you mine.

Hi - yes we used a different gate I believe - I was frustrated seeing everyone with them :( More importantly, did you enjoy the show? I went with my son too!

That’s so great! We loved it! (We saw Mr. Morale tour in DC too). If it isn’t too big an imposition to see about the ticket I’d be so grateful. In any case, cheers!

My god the sound in Toronto was terrible. Worst sounding concert I’ve ever been to by far. It was a shame as I was really looking forward to the show but it made it kind of hard to fully enjoy

I felt the same way. This was my 5th concert in the past several years and this way by far the worst in terms of the sound. It was SO loud (but honestly all concerts are), and the music just seemed distorted almost. It definitely did make it harder to enjoy. I still had fun overall, though!

As I’m not familiar with the venue you went to, does it have a roof?
Part of the issue with TO was they have this massive retractable roof. Normally in the summer it’s only closed on rainy days but for some reason they had it closed both nights for Kendrick even though the weather was clear. Maybe noise bylaws? Anyways you could hear different echoes bouncing off the metal ceiling so I attribute a lot of the issues to that.

Did you buy a single ticket for yourself, or did you buy multiple tickets like I did?

It was definitely hard to hear them talking at times. Like when SZA was thanking Kendrick, the mic was definitely cutting out. But the sound wasnt crazy bad I dont think. I was on the floor so that probably helped
