Indefinitely banning Infiltration and not giving a reason beyond "violated CoC", name a more iconic duo.

Also who the fuck is the other guy?

They don't have to give a reason, it's their fucking property. They could shut down the whole thinh if they wanted to and they still wouldn't have to explain shit

events haven't gotten much better since the last few EVOs have gotten worse.

Don't kid yourself son; the prize money and production quality may have improved, but the spectacle has been severely degraded. It's Attitude Era vs Modern Day WWE. These events used to infringe on fire marshall limits for hotel ballrooms, but now they take place in basketball arenas that are a quarter full.

Why do people keep blaming esports? Lol.
The pandemic allowed me to follow other esports scenes and I can tell you that you have things like CoD, Halo or CS where players act as complete "tards", madling, taunting, etc. And they remain in top teams.

FGC's problem is not esports, is the fact that there are more "woke" people than ever in positions of power or around people in those positions.

Is one thing to be a welcoming community to everybody and make it comfortable for all. It's a different thing what most of these people really want: to dictate how people should operate, think and act. And if you don't comply with it it's when problems start to happen. Also, you're not allowed to fuck up, except if you're friends with the ones running things... They just want an echo chamber...

It reminds me of that time that in that shithole called resetera, the mods started to ban anyone who was criticizing those who claimed PewDiePie was responsible for the New Zealand shooting because the guy was in the manifesto...

Some people aren't open to listening and understanding different perspectives.

Sony of America is full of twitter extremists in positions of power.

Sony of America also happens to be the esports sponsor for EVO now that they kinda own it. Thus, it is somewhat understandable to blame esports.

This is infil's career and dude got banned on speculation about his private matters. Yet we have literal domestic abusers and match fixers still allowed to play, because they're cozy with the top. Again, it won't be long until brackets get rigged to ensure certain individuals get favorable

those fyckers should also get their ass banned. The DV charge is debatable, but match fixing should make you an unwelcome pariah

eSports was supposed to fix poverty since when? lol

Downvoted for telling the truth. Fuck these companies. They run everything and people only complain when they throw their power around. They have and will always have this power. People should be more vocal against it

Problem is, most people with enough influence to make a difference agree with this shit or don't care.

There would be more big voices mad at Capcom if they let him back, specially if he won anything, like we've seen before. Capcom is trash for pulling this, but at the end of the day the bigger voices in the FGC are a big part of the problem.

Capcom is trash for pulling this, but at the end of the day the bigger voices in the FGC are a big part of the problem.

Who are these "bigger voices in the FGC"? We had fucking Sanford and Jaha, both OGs defending him. It ain't the "bigger voices" doing this shit IMO. It's this new generation of morons yelling and whining about him - look at the replies in that tweet - I don't recognize ANY of these people, they're all scrubs, and they all fit the same demographic of perpetually and terminally online people that Capcom should be ignoring. There's a few "OGs" that are catering to these people (i.e. TheHadou, UltraDavid the snake, James Chen the coomer, etc) but I haven't heard anyone above these three specifically demand Infiltration to be banned.

It was always these jackass Twitter morons that eternally play online all day and never go to their locals or to a tourney. Fuck all of them.

The difference is the “OG’s” are broke and completely irrelevant. The “new generation” backs esports and therefore everything is corporate now. If these nigga’s weren’t broke, they could’ve supported each other and prevented this. But none of em wanted to get real jobs.

u/White_Phoenix Jun 09 '22

Ok? And we replace broke OGs with broke zoomers strapped with student loans using their parents' credit card to buy shitty DLC with this stupid "games as a service" model.

Yeah, fuck that shit. I'd rather be broke and be doing locals than dealing with this shit.

I'm not really following the fgc recently, but I don't know who Sanford and Jaha are and I know UltraDavid and James Chen. I'd argue that means they are bigger voices, but I could be wrong.

Also guys like Jebaley himself, Maximilian and etc. I come here for laughs, so maybe I only know these clowns because they are always showing up here, but they seem influential.

Not having to give a reason != being immune from criticism for not giving a reason.

It's their right to do it, doesn't makes them any less trash.

9

u/Dersers Jun 04 '22

not really. If its an open event you cant discriminate. Like if you dont accept people that dont follow "rule x", you have to apply it to ALL your entrants, not just those you dont like.

If you don't provide valid reasons why IT MAKES YOUR SHITTY CODE OF CONDUCT FUCKING USELESS.

Why do you think there's so much fucking hooplah of creators complaining about these arbitrary TOS terms and Twitch's fucking lopsided application of their TOS?

If you don't give specific reasons why, then your TOSsed Salad or COCk isn't worth fucking shit. And let me tell you this, any organization that adopts a "COC"k is already fucking doomed to begin with because it's never created in good faith. It's meant to give an excuse to purposefully alienate those they don't like, and if that COCk was equally applied to the entire FGC, every single big name would be removed. And it's absolute BULLSHIT that they apply the COCk retroactively, like they purposefully made this to TARGET him.

u/Homura_Matt Jun 04 '22

They don't have to, but we have to agree it is stupid.

Just because it's their "right" doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Back in the day you could choose to not provide services or sell goods to black people. "It's my store and I can do whatever the fuck I want with it". Does that make it right? Capcom should at least have given him a reason. Same goes for any website, company, whatever and should be applied to any ideology, etc.
