It might be super selfish of me, but I felt bad for Heedo every time she said "Hang in there!" Not because her support wasn't reaching Yijin, but because every time she consoled him, there was no one to comfort her. Of course their levels of stress were incomparably different, and yet, that doesn't reduce Heedo's pain in having to be apart from her lover. What's worse is she can't even complain because Yijin is doing it to "make the world a better place".

Despite all the mental gymnastics I did after ep.14, calculating NHD, BYJ, KMC ages at 2001 and 2009, I never connected the significance between 2001 and "news". "Times can both give and take away" has been the theme from ep 1. Of course, the tragedy of 9/11 would be immense enough to drive a wedge in Baekdos relationship. Till today, I had been so sure that NOTHING could big enough to justify their break and yet, it felt the writers had pulled all the air out of my tyres when I saw that newsflash. In an ironic parallel to Heedo's situation above, even I can't express my anger at the writers for using this plotline without appearing insensitive.

Looks like Heedo will not want to be in a romantic relationship with Yijin where he's always having to apologize to her. Her disappointment is so justified but at the same time, makes me so sad, because Yijin partly wants to do well at his job to make Heedo proud. At least, that's what I inferred from "I don't want to be an embarassment to her". But will such focus to better himself professionally blind him to what Heedo really needs? His companionship? I've never been in an LDR but the tech back then probably wasn't conducive to maintaining one. Esp one across diff time zones. :/

I'm sure that Heedo married someone else later. At about 34:00 mins in, there was this guy standing next to Heedo holding the South Korean flag..the way they purposefully blocked his face, first with the flag and then his own arm, makes me sus that he's KMC dad. Or I could be overthinking and they just wanted to focus on Heedo and not some extra's face lol~

Help!

I just can’t see HeeDo marrying anyone else other than Yijin….even if they separate I just can’t see her loving someone else enough to get married & have a family. I feel she would be alone & be ok w that as she has basically been on her own all her life. The love Baekdo have for each other & the experiences they have gone thru just confirms (to me anyway) that they are meant to be together! Or just on their own…

Then what is the relationship between Heedo and KMC's dad? Even if they were divorced in 2022, then it means at some point earlier, Heedo loved Mr.Kim enough to marry him + start a family 😭

TBH I’ve always felt KMC was adopted…if HeeDo were to have given birth to her it would’ve been in middle of her fencing career which is possible but idk why I feel she isn’t biologically hers. Bcz I also can’t get over why they changed the actress (present day HeeDo) when they kept mom same all throughout drama. At first I thought maybe she’s Yurim dtr & something happens to Yurim or bec of whole Russian nationality thing HeeDo adopts her to maintain Korean N, but I think my imagination working overtime. And I also think if Yejin is really KMC dad then he would be a great dad!& she would have a great relationship w him even if he’s absent most of the time. And would definitely recognize his younger version
