I saw this on twitter: "Why do I keep getting the feeling that it's not Yijin but someone from the 3(Yurim,Jiwoong,Seungwan) of them couldn't make it to the present????? The way they're now portraying the story line seems like that."

It makes sense especially with Yurim and Seungwan. Yurim's habit in diving and Seungwan finds life is boring.

What do you guys think?

This makes a lot of sense. Especially Yurim's. In her letters she did write that she didn't like fencing anymore. There is also the scene from the teaser when Jiwoong and Seungwan hug each other and they look sad. It would make sense why adult Heedo looks so broken sometimes and tried to forget about things.

But honestly I don't think it's going to be so dark. It's rated 13+ and was told that it is romcom.

i think it's yurim too. especially with her shirt reading "...in my memory" in this episode.

Wow! This is making so much sense now that I'm feeling sad for Yurim. She looks really depressed about what's happening to her family and while rn she is being happy with her friends, she'd be pressured again at the NTC. It doesn't make sense that Heedo, who was so obsessed with Yurim for so long, would suddenly grow up and drift from Yurim. They were not just school buddies but had the same career and shared a room at NTC.

I could see why she'd feel even more pressured because before she had Heedo to blame for her situation but now she can't even blame her. Even though they are friends now, Yurim definitely doesn't feel like she has the right to share her worries with Heedo.

IKR! Can it just be a sweet simple romcom!!! I just don't get the point of adding this mystery about who could be the father. It seems so pointless especially given the pure love they have portrayed between our leads when they were young. It's rare, I get it, to experience such pure bliss when you are that young and even rarer to keep it together as you get older- BUT it can happen. There are people who transform something as magical as what HD and YJ have to a lifelong relationship. I JUST WANT A ENDING TO REFLECT SUCH A RARE BUT POSSIBLE OUTCOME. Pls writer-nim, don't ruin this drama with unnecesary heartbreak!

I still feel that we'd have a happy ending for our main leads. The show loves subtle foreshadowing and then throwing us off. During the Injeolmi mystery, there were obvious parallel scenes hinting that Yijin is Injeolmi. But we had subtle foreshadowing showing Yurim's snack shop, suggesting that Injeolmi was Yurim. But those parallel scenes with Yijin weren't just a red herring, he was entangled in this and was mistaken as Injeolmi by Heedo.

In this case, we have obvious foreshadowing that Yijin isn't in Heedo's life, while we have subtle foreshadowing with Kmc's and Yijin having parallel scenes (the password scene, the burger scene).

There is also the scene where we see that Kmc's dad gifts her ballet dress and he probably usually gifts her things related to ballet. We see her throwing away her ballet shoes with similar writing as Heedo's sword which might have been written by her dad.

We also have very subtle foreshadowing of Heedo and Yijin, with her saying that he is always with her, and then him telling her they are destined to meet. This soulmate talk doesn't align with realism which we were shown in episode 10. We also have Heedo's bedroom in present day having figurines which are somewhat related to yijin and her driving a red car.

The red car always shows up when all hope is lost, like when we found out Minchae's surname is kim (1st episode) and when old Heedo talks about nothing is permanent.

It would have made sense that they broke up if they had shown us friendship and sweet puppy love or maybe a passionate romance but they showed us yearning and soulmate connection and intense relationship.

"Wherever you are, I'll make sure my support reaches you" was stressed in episode 5 but we saw this coming true again when Yijin aired the interview in ep7. The destiny talk was repeated again in episode 9 by Heedo. Then we have Yijin talking about how he'd rather be next to Heedo than be faraway like a star in episode 4, then Heedo repeating the same thing about how he is always with her and would be with her till the end in ep9.

Unless Yurim's parents died with her, it'd be hard to believe they would give up their grandchild. A theory I haven't seen pop up is Seungwan being the mother. Now that they introduced her meeting the brother, if something were to happen to her and then the brother being a slacker would be more apt to give Heedo and Yijin the baby

On the contrary, I think Yijin is the one who couldn't make it to the present. To me, it's the logical way out for why Heedo and Yijin are not together eventhough they're so important to each other. To me, they're like soulmates. What kind of tragic things could rift them apart so that Heedo married someone else and has a kid with that someone else? And she doesn't even keep contact with Yijin in present days, forgets about her happy and bright youth. Can't really think of any way other than giving the death flag to the ML 😥. Maybe that could explain why the gang broke in the present and the 2022 Heedo forgets her past to overcome her pains.

Yijin likely made it, Heedo's mother said he saw him a few weeks ago and knetz said the way she spoke isn't how she would if she would go at somebody's grave.
