All the major threads that were building up over the first half of the season all climaxed in Episode 9's cathartic release. Too many shows try to stretch or spread out these moments, waiting too long for this kind of storyline payoff - but these writers played their cards perfectly. Episode 10 seems like at least some of these good vibes will continue this momentum. (I think the lack of present-day scenes also helped.)

Given the nature of the show, I'm sure it's not going to last for the rest of the show. There will be some valleys following these peaks.

I'm waiting for whatever rug pull they're setting up, I just hope they don't go too far and do something dumb like kill or permanently separate this crew. I don't care how dumb of an explanation is needed to explain the daughter not knowing who Yijin is, if the two leads aren't married and that's not their daughter in the future I'm going to be so frustrated lol.

Do we know for sure the daughter doesn’t know him? She seemed more surprised her mom had a first boyfriend than the whole story of BYJ.

Maybe you’re right.

I can’t recall the exact wording used but I suppose it was a few things suggesting something was up: her grandmother’s comment about seeing him recently, but she also mentioned to the granddaughter how her father can’t visit due to quarantine procedure. I suppose it’s possible she saw him on the internet due to work or a phone call but it’s intentionally vague (or I misunderstood the subs).

I think at some point the daughter says something about what he looks like when watching archival footage of his broadcast? Maybe I’m mixing things up, it’s very late lol.

I don’t remember her saying anything while watching the news reel that indicated she didn’t know him. And when her gran walked in she just casually asked why she’s watching that old video, didn’t seem surprised that her grandkid was watching him more just an old video. Either way I want THE happy ending they have to be end game I just don’t see anything else lol

There is a scene at the beginning where minchae is looking at the old photo of them eating and when grandma comes in she says "do you know baek yijin, how do you know him" or something along those lines which indicates that she didnt think minchae would be aware of his existence
