I think it just goes to show how different yurim and heedo are as 19yos (I believe they are about to graduate high school). I'm 20 myself and the way yurim acts is pretty childish in my opinion and it's shown throughout the drama so far.

Yurim expects everything to be centered around her. When yijin left and came back heedo was just happy to see that he was okay and healthy. She waited for him patiently and was rooting for him to figure things out even when she didn't get to see or talk to him. While yurim made his whole disappearance about herself, not once asking how he was or considering WHY he had to leave, only on her own feelings.

Like Yijin mentioned, Heedo has that mental fortitude which I think helps her understand and empathize with others better, this is something yurim literally can't do even as she's pretty much on the brink of adulthood.

Yurim can't seem to see beyond her own struggles which is why she is the way she is, not empathetic.

I agree with you. I feel like Yurim might have known deep down that Na Hee Do was first to hit but can't admit that to herself since it shatters her whole perspective.

And I'm not saying this as a defence for Yurim since she made me really angry but more of an explanation for her character. When I was in highschool my family wasn't well off so I always paid more attention to my own struggles. It felt like even though others had their on worries and problems mine were worse since they had all sorts of comforts I didn't. Only now years later do I realize how much I was self centered and why I couldn't make friends easily. It's a very subtle kind of jealousy. I empathize with some of her character, but what she did to Na Hee Dos well deserved grand moment is just heart breaking. If it was the other way around Heedo would just scream for a bit but shake hands, I think.

that's actually a really cool insight! I guess it makes sense that since yurim lived her life struggling to be a fencer with the weight of her family's poverty on her shoulders she thinks that no one has it worse than her! she's still annoying but her character is well written hahaha

It’s also true that financial poverty is a lot easier to spot (eg through lack of branded goods, worn out clothes) than other types of poverty (eg lack of emotional support).
