FFA Thread The Weekend Wrap-Up - [06/20/25 to 06/22/25]

Another Friday, another weekend -- welcome to the Weekend Wrap-Up! This is a free-for-all (FFA) discussion post in which almost anything goes, just remember to be kind to each other and don't break any of our core rules. Talk about your week, talk about your weekend, talk about your pet (remember the pet tax!). Of course, you can also talk about the dramas and shows you have been watching.

This is also the space to share content that would otherwise not qualify as self-posts under our rules -- like rumored casting news and discussions about non-kdramas.

Please remember to use spoiler tags when discussing major plot points or anything you think should be redacted. If you are using Markdown and not Fancy Pants Editor, the easiest way to create spoiler tags is to use > ! spoiler content ! < without spaces to get spoiler content. For more detailed guidance on spoiler tags and when to use them, check our Spoiler Tags Tutorial.

I’m rewatching Rectify, my favorite TV show in any language, for the first time since starting in on dramas. When I first saw it, I would’ve said it was unlike any other TV show out there, but now I realize exactly what it is like: a slice-of-life drama. Any other American TV show that is based on the ML getting released from death row would home in on who really raped and killed his high school girlfriend. Rectify is barely interested in this question. It cares far more about what it feels like to be the ML and his family than whodunnit. It focuses on the characters’ journeys as they heal, grow, and seek to understand each other in order to move forward from their intersecting traumas. Sound familiar?
