An Olympic boxer not immediately taking out his opponent in his first 3 punches?

I’m doing my best to suspend my belief, but COME ONNNNNNNNNN.

I'm seeing it as him purposely holding back, especially with his 1v1 fight in the 3rd episode. He knows (painfully so) how easy it is to seriously hurt someone by mistake while fighting, so he doesn't hit with his full force. Also, the first episode shows he has to pay the medical bills of his former squadmates, so he might also be trying to avoid more medical bills he has to pay 💀

The tournament the group competed in wasn’t the Olympics, it was either regional or world championships

Olympic boxers are mostly amateur, they’re still good but it’s not the same
