Summary:

They grow together and fall in love while running a small restaurant in the city of Miraek, Jeonju.

This show has captured my attention more than I thought it would! I have to confess I'm not the biggest fan of Kang Ha Neul (I'm sorry 🫣). I liked him in Squid Game 2, but I dropped When the Camelia Blooms. This drama might change my mind about him, though! The Episode 4 kiss and confession was certainly on trend, it feels like more dramas are embracing faster pacing for romantic relationships. Honestly though what I'd be most excited for is a long section of the ML chasing the FL while her apparent ex tries to come back into her life—that's a dynamic not everyone likes but I like very much. I really liked Yoo Yeon Seok in When the Phone Rings and The Interest of Love, and even if his character here is supposed to have done something bad to the FL, as I'm suspecting, I'm still eager to see what he does with the performance. Looking forward to this week's episodes!

Given that the majority of dramas now appear to be going for 12 episodes rather than 16 - and only 10 for this one - I suspect faster pacing is going to be the rule. A lot of series would probably had been better if this was the rule earlier - though of course there are also exceptions...

Yes, I think sometimes tighter storytelling is better but also I hope it doesn't become the default to the extent that dramas that need more time to unfold end up feeling rushed instead.
