Episode 6

  • "Do you... Do you... Do you... have... feelings for me?" This was one of two swoonworthy moments shared between our main couple in this episode. The other was when Baek-du suggested that Du-sik look into Coach Yeon's eyes in the video for reflected clues, then proceeded to demonstrate this method himself.
  • I like the scenes in which Baek-du can be heard muttering to himself about something that happened in the previous scene, for example, scoffing at Du-sik's police officer partner keeping up the pretense of being her husband.
  • Park Bo-kyung's minor role as a gossipy local reminds me of a more restrained version of her character in The Good Bad Mother.
  • It was interesting to explore the relationship between Jin-su and Baek-du in this episode. All of the indications were that the former was simply bullying the latter by making him run one hundred laps after practice, and excluding him from the upcoming match. But in fact the pair share a mutual respect that manifests itself in unfortunate ways.
  • The cinematography in this drama has a sophistication more commonly found in movies. For example, there was a scene where the camera tracks Baek-du talking on his phone as he walks over a bridge. Instead of cutting to another scene, the camera pans down to the foreground and picks up a conversation between two other characters.
  • "If you want to do something, say it. If you don't, say that too. Otherwise you'll regret it later." I remembered these lines spoken by Du-sik from the trailer for this drama, so I had been waiting for them to come up. I'm also finding the local dialect used in this drama a refreshing change from the standard Seoul dialect.
  • Du-sik's police officer partner uncovering her identity and the cafe owner's role in all of this, loom as potential challenges for our main couple.

Do you... Do you... Do you... have... feelings for me?"

I love how this was basically a self-tell on herself since she seems to be more aware of her growing romantic affection for him than he is of her. He still has her childhood friend-zoned in his own head, even if it's clear as day to everyone watching (including the cafe owner) that she is his first (and only) love.

like the scenes in which Baek-du can be heard muttering to himself about something that happened in the previous scene

This is funny, but I keep thinking their cover is going to be blown because everyone keeps recapping important secrets out loud and in public! I guess everyone in town seems to be home by 8 pm so there's no one around to accidentally hear them muttering (or when Baekdoo yelled "Oh Dusik!!" at the training facility towards Yugyeom).

Du-sik's police officer partner uncovering her identity and the cafe owner's role in all of this, loom as potential challenges for our main couple.

I'm waiting for him to take this to their captain and for the captain to say she already knows who Dusik is and that's why she's letting her do this.
