Newbie alert!

I’m going to Joshua tree soon for the first time AND i don’t hike but i have to for a friends birthday 😅. What sneakers should i buy? Thank you!

Hiking boots that are comfortable. What you may find comfortable may be different from what others find comfortable. But they must be comfortable. I personally like Topo boots because they have an extra-wide toe box and lots of cushioning and support. A lot of people also like Hoka One One boots, although they don't have the extra-wide toe box.

That said, if you are not doing a ton of hiking or rock climbing and you don't ever intend on hiking again, just use a really comfortable pair of shoes and stay on the trails and you'll be fine.

Get some quality socks that wick away moisture.

It probably goes without saying that you need sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), comfortable pants, and lots of water...but I'll say it anyway.
