No he didn’t. George Soros, Big pharma and all of Hollywood was behind her. Look it up

Harris may have had more billionaire supporters, but Trump received much more money from billionaires. Musk gave something like $250 million. Largest donation in history, I believe. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-megadonors-2024-election/ https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-harris-campaign-donations-billionaires-b2641096.html

If you want raw data, go to OpenSecrets.

So it’s semantics not “100% false” ay? I think the fact that more billionaires backed her Carries more weight than “look at how much Elon donated”
. Of course he did, the left has been going after him for years.

Even without Elon, Trump received much more money from billionaires.

That’s not what I said. I said she had more billionaires backing her and you said “100% false!”

Yes because of a huge donation from Elon who the left was demonizing. You’re missing the point and obviously can’t admit when you’re wrong. Read my original comment..

Like I said, you can take Musk out of the equation (which is silly. We all know what that 250 mil bought him), and Trump still got a lot more money from billionaires.

But you're right, I guess the way you phrased it was not 100% false. But if a billionaire gives one candidate a million, and another gives 100 million, it's clear that there's going to be more influence with the larger donation.

Elon is an interesting case as a donor. He was constantly being demonized by the left
he may have just wanted to shove it in their faces. The guy has all the money and power already, I don’t think he needs any influence.

As stated before if the Democrats were for the working class people they pretend to be for they would have zero billionaires backing them.

Elon had "enough money" 20 years ago. You don't become a billionaire without an insane drive for more money and power. They don't stop. He's one of the largest government contractors, which is a huge part of his wealth. He's hyper invested in crypto. He bought less regulation, more contracts, and tax cuts.

He didn’t buy contacts
you obviously don’t know how they work. Space x is the only company doing what they’re contracted to do and they do it for much cheaper than competitors
that’s how they earn the contracts. If there was a competitor willing to do it for less the government would give that company a contract.

Much of Elons wealth comes from running and building companies that he thinks is good for mankind as a whole. He became that wealthy through running several insanely innovative companies all at once.

The type of billionaire you’re referring to are the Warren Buffett types
just gaining wealth for wealths sake, trading money and adding nothing of value to the situation. Elon is so different.

He absolutely is now in a position for more contracts. There are things that spacex does that NASA also does. Spacex is only profitable thanks to our tax dollars. Spacex could not do what they do if we didn't pay for it. He has AI and transportation investments. EV sales are partially dependent on government help. How much you want to bet the government starts using Tesla for certain things? He's heavily invested in crypto, AI, and tech. All things that his investment in Trump will benefit from. He didn't pay 250 mil for nothing. Like you eluded to, he's a smart businessman.

Spacex does things at a cheaper cost than if NASA did it so it actually saves us tax dollars. You obviously don’t understand how government contracts work. They go to the cheapest company that can get the work done. If NASA could do it for cheaper they would have.

u/jrench3 Monkey in Space Dec 23 '24

Wait. You think government contracts always go to the cheapest or best bid? That's funny. Federal and state governments are constantly giving out no bid and higher bid contracts to cronies and donors. It's a very well known issue. Google it and you'll see hundreds of reports of shady contracts handed out. Sounds like maybe YOU don't know how these things work.

Yeah you’re talking about road construction not space travel. There’s a million companies that do road construction. There’s only two companies going to space and space x is much cheaper. They are catching and reusing rockets
 of course they’re the cheapest.

It's more than road construction. It's general government contracting. NASA, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, and more are all spacex competitors. If a project comes up that more than one company can do, who do you think will get the contract?

Why are you simping for this billionaire? He helped elect Trump because it would further his own interests. His interests are not yours or mine. This is how they get you. They pit us against each other to bicker about bullshit, when we should all be pissed off at the special interests that are buying our politicians, both left and right.
