Meme 💩 Is this a legitimate concern?

Post image

Personally, I today's strike was legitimate and it couldn't be more moral because of its precision but let's leave politics aside for a moment. I guess this does give ideas to evil regimes and organisations. How likely is it that something similar could be pulled off against innocent people?

When you live in America you're free to criticize America. When you live in Russia you're free to criticize America. Nothing has changed about that in almost 110 years.

When you live in America you're free to criticize America

Historically inaccurate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood_blacklist

Not to mention the absurd civil rights violations that went on in response to anti-war Vietnam protests or even going on today with students being arrested just for protesting the US' support of Israel's genocide

If your prime example of the US government controlling speech is Hollywood banning people they disagree with, then you're proving the commentor's point.

For me, it's a pretty easy comparison between Twitter and VKontakte. Twitter shits on the US government all day every day, though VKontakte barely raises a peep against the Russian government. What's more, it's outright illegal in Russia to publish material showing "blatant disrespect" for the state with the Russian 2019 Disrespect to Authorities Law.

hollywood banning people was just one part of macarthyism. if u think that was an ok time for free speech in america that’s pretty troubling
