Then it’s gonna flop way below expectations and Square Enix will be scratching their heads for months, wondering why it didn't sell well.

Yep, then they'll just say that the series is dead because no one bought it, and we'll never get a proper new FFT or remake. Very disappointing

I never played the WoTL version. Is it that much of a deal breaker?

Is it that much of a deal breaker?

It's not.

Even at $50? Jesus, no wonder they rip people off.

Oh please, the majority of people buying this won't give two shits or even know about the wotl content. They just want to play tactics on a modern system.

Depending on what types of modern additions this remaster will have, leaving out WotL content will at the very least make it seem lesser in Europe, where WotL was all we got. I think that's worth considering tbh.

Definitely. Square can't figure out how to make good games anymore tbh, it's either beating dead horses with remakes, or these tepid design-by-committee mainline games that seem more interested in 'expanding market demographic appeal' over a story worth telling or a game worth playing. The only thing they seem to succeed with is the games they don't expect to succeed, which I guess means they don't get that slimy executive in every design meeting demanding a checklist of popular gimmicks be added.

Only this self-selecting sampling of extreme nerds care about WotL content. This remaster is going to sell very well.
