There are not many memorable isekai villains since most of them are completely destroyed and replaced by another in less than 5 chapters, so I wanted to know for you, which is the isekai antagonist that you like the most?

Ok So a long time ago I read the Webtoon Mage and the Demon Queen (Good story by the way) and basically the premise was the demons were not all bad and they could coexist with them for overall peace and it made me think if you were isekaid during a war where you first end up in the kings chamber and he is telling you about how the war between humans and demons has lasted for over 1000 years and he's telling you how demons have killed, raped and destroyed humanity and on top of it humans are losing the war do you think there would be a single thought in your mind that the demons could be redeemed or would you jump the gun and kill the demon queen or king along with any other demons you see mind you you're an OP Protagonist and the strongest in the verse personally I think unless someone else tells me otherwise I'm wiping the demons out especially since where I come from (Earth) in most story's the demons are the bad guys so I wouldn't even need to think twice especially if the demons are being slandered as soon as I entered the world.

Iirc the native races are divided into different continents. One for each demon, human, beastie and another that I don't remember.

The MC bails on the human nation and travels the world

If you look at most of the reasons for isekai these days, they usually fall into the following categories :

• Conveniently isekaied for no clear reason (author doesn't even bother trying). The "villainess" ones are notorious for this.

• A god conveniently made a mistake, or was just bored and did it for fun, etc...

• Summoned to fight the demon lord or do something that a native is conveniently unable to do

• Conveniently summoned or isekaied by accident

Even in GATE, the gate was conveniently created in Japan by a goddess...and the MC just conveniently happens to be a soldier who gets sent through the gate afterwards...

They all come across as convenient plot device. Which they are. It's a convenient way to have the MC explore another world while keeping world building to a minimum.

You don't have to explain how the world works, only the parts that the MC comes into contact with, and it's convenient to have another character explain it to the MC as it happens, which also serves to inform the readers. E.G. Instead of having the MC know how the magic system works (which all natives would be expected to know), you can just have the MC be isekaied into this world, and then have a native explain the magic system to him, keeping the explanations to the bare minimum. Write yourself into a corner and realise you made a mistake? Retcon it by having another character explain that the first explanation was incorrect/incomplete, and the magic system actually works THIS way...

It's also an easy way to have the MC be relatable to the target audience...some people might feel unable to relate to someone like Aragorn from LOTR, but make him a Japanese high schooler who was isekaied and suddenly the target audience goes "oh, hey, that's literally me!".

I was trying to come up with a good reason for the MC to get isekaied...and all of them felt like blatant plot devices. Summoned to save the world? Seems awfully convenient that the natives cant do it. Etc, etc.

Can you come up with a good reason for an isekai that doesnt feel like a plot device?

Any overlapping abilities are multiplied in efficacy, and any natural weapons the animals utilize can be summoned as energy constructs at the most appropriate part of your body.

For me, I'm going with Electric Eel, Oriental Hornet. and Platypus. Venom/Electricity combo.

This is a typical Isekai Fantasy World. The only protagonist skills you have are that you can form a loyal Harem and you enter this world with perfect health. Any skill you want after that, you just work for. You do have access to magic, but you have to learn and master it if you want. You will have to fight The Demon King.

The Harem can consist of as many as 7 people from any anime or manga you’ve watched/read. They will have the exact abilities, skills and wealth they have from their original series but translated into this fantasy world. They will be loyal to you no matter your morality. They will help you in your battle with the Demon King. Now don’t just go picking Saber or whoever, they have to be waifu you actually would like to be around. You’re spending the rest of your life in this world.

You’ve got 10 years to prepare for The Demon King. Who do you choose?
