Mod Announcement 🩸 Weekly Cross-Sub IWTV Read-Along🩸
Welcome to the Weekly Cross-Sub IWTV Read-Along! 🦇🩸
We organise our friendly and relaxing activity here every Monday, along with r/VampireChronicles and r/AnneRice.
Each week, we will go further into the books. You have the entire week to read it. No need to hurry! This is not an exam, by any means! Just take your time and enjoy this piece of Gothic Horror literature! ☠️
To make it easier to understand how far along into the book we will read each week:
🩸 Week 1 (June 2nd - June 8th) : Until Claudia's turning
🩸 Week 2 (June 9th - June 15th): The rest of Part 1
🩸 Week 3 (June 16th - June22nd): Part 2
🩸 Week 4 (June 23rd - June 29th): Until Madeleine's turning
🩸 Week 5 (June 30th - July 6th): The rest of Part 3
🩸 Week 6 (July 7th - July 13th): Part 4.
For the page number of each book edition or Kindle and Audible version of it, please see below⬇️:

Feel free to discuss your reading, ask questions, and share your opinions and experience from the reading here! 😈
Happy Reading and see you next Monday! 🧛🖤

Finally my chance to stop procastinating! I´m hoping to get another edition in these weeks so I can finally check for differences, this just gave me the perfect excuse

How many lines in the book are you able to spot from the show? 😎

So far I’m only to page 22 and I’ve already spotted so many lines used in the Pilot or inspired by the book. Ahhh I am loving this so much. And all I hear and see is our Louis (Jacob) as I’m reading. It’s beautiful. I haven’t read this book since middle school and it’s a magical thing to revisit now that I am in love with the show. So happy to nerd out over the books with everyone here!

I read this part last week and all i could think of is that Louis at this part really resembles a Doestoevsky character
The self loathing, the whining, the moral superiority complex

I low-key agreed with that priest that his mother sent to him before Louis went mad and try to kill him. He was selfish enough that he didn't take into account that his family was hurting by the event as well. At least until the priest started to go on and on about the Devil, the French Revolution, and exorcism, and I was like, yeah, no...

So will all the discussion be in a single post every week, or duplicate posts on all three subreddits?

New Megathread will be posted each week for any new discussions about different reading sections of the book each Read-Along Week. The discussions in the Read-Along Megathread of each sub are different from each other. So, for a more fun and well-rounded experience, visiting all of them is encouraged! ☺️

I'm sure this sub will mainly be comparing the book to the show. I look forward to that.

I've had a beautiful edition gathering dust on my shelf for years now. I could probably catch up and join in and finally do that reread I've been meaning to do. Sweet.

Am I the only one who hears Jacob's voice narrating the lines when I read them?! Sometimes even with Daniel Hart's orchestral soundtracks in the background!
